Now the actual (or rather, reported) bid is above 20p. Good to see.

Nice to see that 25k buy @ 21.3p just go through too. Hopefully bodes well for a close above 20p today...underlying Bid is 20.28 so there ought to be every chance

The AA corporate bond yield has stopped falling (at least for now!) so one of the main drivers of the pension deficit increase appears to have troughed and may even go into reverse. That's the hope :)

Folk don't seem to fear the pension situation like they did..I mean have a look at Reach and MPAC.Maybe part of a 'risk on ' approach to the market. Equally the Carclo pension is something that can be sorted over time.

I got slated on here for saying the board pay is unsustainably too high.

Nevertheless for the record, getting rid of Peter Slabbert is positive as is the new contract win. The person replacing Slabbert looks ok as well.

Carclo might be OK if it manages to control its board remuneration and if there is some stability in its turnaround progress. The market is giving carclo the benefit of the doubt and the recent purchases of shares by the chairman bodes well

This is owned by debt holders and pfr.
Shareholders ,current and future employees efforts will be used to fund pensions of older employees, pay debt and debt managers and subsidise ppf.
Avoid like plague

The new NED looks good and to replace Peter Slabbert as Audit Comm Chair is a smart move. The contract win also looks good.

Let's hope the ride is a bit smoother than it was under the clown team who nearly destroyed the company.

Good to see buying coming in at almost the full 22p offer now.

That's an impressive NED appointment today - should serve CAR well. Interesting comment too from the Chairman about this appointment being "as we embark on the next stage of the Carclo journey".

The company could usefully say more about the order book. Have they got anything out of the covid pandemic ..say relating to lateral flow devices?
I note that other stocks with big supposed pension issues are not being held back eg MPAC. Pension deficits can get sorted even without inflation...though a tricky topic.

Yep, a divisional CEO has bought another £10,000 of shares at just over 19.3p each.

Multiple director buying at increasing prices is always good to see, following the Chairman's sizeable purchase the other day.

Thanks re the online info gleach23.

Yes it also helps when the chunky buys are by directors :)

Market quote up to 18.65-19.6 but still only 100 shares available to buy online.

Looking good.

In addition to a modest shareholding I've been trading CAR this week between 17p and 19p on spread bets and have just removed a limit order @ 19.1p after seeing the trade on AQSE of 116k shares @ 19.75 and noticing, with the current market quote of 17.85-19.45, just 100 shares currently available to buy online.

With some earlier chunky buys around 19.3p to offer further encouragement I'm hoping for a swift return to the 20s.

:o))

Yep, glad to see it. I'm sure a morning RNS would have garnered even more attention, but the implications of this hefty second lot of share buying by the Chairman - not too far away from the year end - appear to have struck home.
