The level of anger and attack never ceases to amaze me. Anyway I've made my point - fully on-topic from now on and sorry for the little excursion.

"I'm not going to tell them what they should and shouldn't do."-------Guffaw!!!! But that's all you ever do! Tell people what they should & shouldn't post! Either their analysis is too "rear view" for you or it's "share price comparison" or "it mentions other companies"! Stop trying to act like like your some sort of admin ! Last time I checked we live in a free speech society! As for the lizard , I can't see what he's posting as I've had the rotting gammon filtered since Q3 2020!

LMAO what a bunch of "DRIVEL"!!! So the share prices of investments are now "irrelevant"?? LOL! In that case stop providing minute by minute commentary every time the price pops by 4p!!! Someone should tell the pedant that we don't do this for charity and let him know that the reasons we are all here are 2 fold:1) share price increases (capital gains).2) shareholders returns via dividends (which the company have refused to do because it doesn't suit their advisors' agendas). The only drivel is the stuff that a certain accountant posts! Show me a post where he has provided any sort of analysis, comparison, insight or evaluation on any share! EVER! All he ever does is 1 lines & quips pretending to be smart! I'll wear that filter with pride! LMAO! Thanks LOL

I hate filtering people particularly when some of those that regularly post drivel are actually quite smart and value add when they want to be - I just wish they could be more focused - but that's up to them - if they want to keep posting irrelevant share comparisons and non value add stuff I'm not going to tell them what they should and shouldn't do.

I'VE JUST RECEIVED A 7 FIGURE CHEQUE FOR TENDERING 100% AT STRIKE PRICE AND SOLD MY GUARANTEED 34.52% PLUS MY EXCESS 59.10554732%, THEREFORE, I'M OUT WITH A PROFIT, BUT UNFORTUNATELY I STILL HAVE A SIZABLE HOLDING GOING NOWHERE (MY SHARES ARE CERTIFICATED BECAUSE IF A NOMINEE COLLAPSED I'M ONLY GUARANTEED £85,000)!

THE BUYBACK PROGRAMME ONLY PURCHASED 38,982 SHARES YESTERDAY, THIS HALF-HEARTED EFFORT IS WHY CNE ARE STALLING, DECLARE A SPECIAL DIVIDEND INSTEAD AND CNE WOULD BE FLYING!

But since we're playing the share price game let's see how it performed TGL up 10.9%I3e up 5.2%PTAL up 5.1%ENQ up 4.0%LBE up 3.5% PHAR up 3.4%ENW up 2.1% HBR up 2% GKP up 1.8% SHEL up 1.6% PPC up 1.5% TRIN up 1.1%BP up 0.5% CNE down 1.3% Why is CNE stalling when other peers are flying and the oil price is very buoyant???. All this despite buying back their own shares!!!! What would happen if they stopped buying their shares ? Answers on a post card!

In the good old days this used to be a decent bb where people discussed & debated pros and cons until certain people resorted to posting "drivel" and inane minute by minute commentary of the share price! When the share price tanks the posts are along the lines of "yaaaaay we get to buy more of our own shares"When the share price goes up by about 5p "see! told you so ! CNE is flying ! That's a big FU to anyone who questioned management" LMAO! I hope we can see how vacuous and asinine the above type postings are! No analysis (positive or negative), no critique and no insight just pure unadulterated (for want of a better word) "DRIVEL"!

CGT on average price not FIFO / LIFO. IMHO.

Quite nice to see more considered and reasonable posts here. The price increase and movement on share buyback seems to have sent some of the drivel we've seen into the wilderness. How long that lasts I'd not care to guess.

For CGT purposes I was always under the impression it was 'last in - first out' basis.

No expert but suspect the key is how the purchases and sales relate to tax years - CGT allowance is worked on that basis.

Good morning Nigel,

I have an of topic question for you if you wouldn't mind ?

It relates to how HMRC assess holdings in a stock, added to over a few years.

Exaple: you buy 25,000 @ .80p 30,000 @.60p 45,000 @ .30p total holding 100K

Total cost £51,500.00which means the average price is .515p

If you then sell 50,000 at .50p = £25,000.00 does HMRC treat this as a loss of .015 per share.

Or can you opt to sell 25,000 of the .80p and 25,000 of the .60p giving a loss of .20p per share.

THE INDIVIDUAL TRADES ATTACHMENT DOESN'T WORK BUT I SUSPECT TRADES ABOVE 200P WERE NEGLIGIBLE AND CNE MISSED AN OPPORTUNITY NOT BUYING CHAR BELOW £100M!

Company paid up to 2.13 last week. As i noted several times on here they could easily move from the £2 people seemed to think was stuck. Shackles off now.

Best bet if you want to spend the time is set up a spreadsheet and input the %'s per the RNS - it has been all over the place as a result of the tender offer and reduction in number of shares in issue - good luck!
