Two small buys lifted the price lifted the price today, so all these big sells must be going somewhere to not impact the market price.

AVAP have £10m to play with, if they negotiated a good deal on new planes for Skywest/Virgin, it wouldnt hurt them or their eps to buy half a million quids worth of CLA with their change.

another 4% of the company sold today, at least at a better price than recent large sales, but wheres all the holding RNS's that should be following these recent transactions?

hopefully there won't be too many more of those 4.6 mills going through. we certainly need that seller weight to come off.

They've planned to add aircraft since the last purchase in 2008 but havent actually done so, however it may be different now. It was interesting to look at the growth in the cash position, looks like theyve grown their cash by the amount borrowed, at the same time as paying off the mezz finance, therefore i presume they could have paid this off out of cashflow, but by refinancing it gives them sufficient cash to make a purchase, once leveraged up with borrowing.

Agreed and reiterated intent to increase the fleet is also positive

Interesting turn of events with Mf Global now stating their holding is below 3%.

Wonder if theyre out completly, or someone just decided theyd be better out of the spotlight and went just under the 3% holding threshold

The risk here is they have no growth, no new planes and just see out the existing leases. CLA was intended to be the larger vehicle to win business with other airlines than SKYW, it was on AIM, while AVAP was on PLUS markets, but now AVAP is on lse and has done the deal with virgin, this may not see much action, however this is low risk to me as the value is there in the aircraft assets. I don't see refinancing as an issue, mezz finance is cleared and the remaining equity increases each year as loans are paid down at a much faster rate than depreciation, worst case leaving some old planes to sell when the leases run out.

Best case, AVAP realise there is no point paying additional listing costs for CLA, and no point paying for new aircraft when they can pick up the rest of CLA at a discount to net assets, but i would be surpised (though pleased) to see this back at 30-40p as it never really traded there, it was an artificial price for a long time, due to no trading.

They originally raised equity at 24p, so to me, lots of scope for a deal with upside here, but very low downside, other than risking tying money up away from better prospects.

davy, thx for yr input on this one, it wasn't obvious to me as i bought in having stumbled across them whilst going through the trade volume lists, checked the last financials, quick look at the graph and jumped in on the basis of i like a clearing overhang scenario, the balance sheet looked ok and realised that the big reason for the share price getting hammered from the 60p was down to the co making the statement about difficult refinancing conditions or something like that.i think a clear the air statement should encourage the share price to go to 30-40 in the near term.which would be nice

They never announce results dates, last year it was March, prior two years it was January, but its always been before Avation in the past, which is why i was surprised to see Avation announce their figures last week.

Apologies if im stating the obvious, but we have some new posters here; Whilst CLA is listed, it is essentially a subsidiary of Avation, and Avation reports CLA's figures in with its own totals, and then strips out the minority shareholding (which is us as part of the 49% that Avation doesnt own) Therefore you can look at Avation's results and back calculate what CLAs results are, well the headline figures anyway; sales, profit and NAV.
