Well done indeed.

I bought some Avation for 32p when the spread was 30-33, then the spread went to 30-35, moving the mid price up 1p.

Its amazing what small purchases can do, and what small sales have done to CLA. I think you'll do well with that purchase.

Id be interested to hear from those that bought in at 30p when the share price halved overnight. Quite a few people came on the board to say what a bargain it was, and how it must go back up, i just wondered what your thoughts are now that there has been further falls.

To add to the illiudity problem with Avation, not all trades are being reported. I bought some recently that have not shown as a trade, apparantly the market maker has some kind of problems when i queried it with my broker.

Did you get your 25,000 for 12.1p? well done if you did

As you know, I hold both. Trouble with Avation in my experience is that it is less liquid. Have just bought 25,000 more CLA, here's hoping my analysis is correct and that long term it will return to fundamentals

Another fall today due to a tiny sale, yet Avation unchanged. Ive always held Avation and not CLA, due to the previous valuation difference, but if this continues there might be a case to switch holdings.

However, I then emailed Jeff Chatfield directly. He responded overnight (presumably he is in either Singapore or Australia) and said the results for both CLA and Avation should be out very soon. So hopefully we should soon know whether the slide is due to performance or to a large seller seeking to get out. Given that Skywest is clearly healthy and that of the other 3 aircraft 2 are leased to Thomas Cook and the other is with US Airways whose stock is near its year high I struggle to see what could be wrong with the leases (famous last words).
Time will tell....

Back now - emailed the company last night to ask when they plan to announce interims

I see Sky West's load factors have improved so hopefully no bad news there. Hard to see where bad news can come from as the other leases are with big tour operators

I should have said Avation have 5 planes not 6, although they are in the process of buying a sixth.

Enjoy the slopes Gosgos

Am in Zermatt skiing but will probably continue to buy on my return - unless I have missed something, volume is still meaninglessly low

CLA are now 17p, and for the first time the value of Avations shareholding in CLA is below its own market cap, which it always should have been, because Avation have six of their own aircraft. The original investors at 24p are now showing a 25% loss, I wonder if Avation would ever offer to buy them back?

Thanks Gosgos, I was wondering who was behind those other major holdings, because this week theyve broken through their purchase price of 24p

I know what you mean but surely the big guys would be against this unless they were being bought out or could see the return in the future. Vidacos Nominees is Standard Life Investments and they have 29.9%

I'm still buying both as I have been over and over the numbers and they are too cheap. May well take 12 months to correct though.

Big drop in the share price today, and again on tiny volume. There must be so few private investors in this one, and if someone needs to sell a few thousand shares, which really isnt a lot of money, maybe theyre happy to take a low price to just move on. I still dont quite think this presents a buying opportunity, i still prefer to hold Avation, especially with Avation buying an A320, and not CLA.

Hi Davydoo
I am also perplexed since it does suggest Avation voted against or else abstained. But if so why was the motion ever put forward unless the share price drop resulted from a different factor and Avation decided that the share price was now too low to justify the warrants.

But if that's true, what has caused the share price drop?

gosgos

I should have said 2007 warrants at 24p, last years were at 67.5p

Ok ive been thinking about an answer to my own question...

In an effort to make last years warrants at 24p more attractive, and therefore valuable (especially since the share price fall) maybe they voted down issuing this years warrants?

Following the AGM today;

'CLA is pleased to announce that, with the exception of Resolution 5, (Authority to grant warrants and allot shares pursuant to the exercise of warrants) all resolutions proposed to shareholders at the Company's Annual General Meeting held earlier today were duly passed'

How did that happen?

Two thoughts I would appreciate comment on....

If Avation is the major shareholder of CLA, and Jeff Chatfield is the director and a major shareholder of Avation, and he is in line for 1,000,000 options why didnt Avation with its 51% shareholding vote for these warrants to be issued?

and the other thing ive been wondering for a while....

Avation currently has a 51% shareholding, and whilst warrants dont carry voting rights, when those warrants are exercised they will have, and would they then reduce Avations shareholding to less than 50%?
