Dow futures looking good for this afternoon.
FTSE should rise even further and in turn we should see CPI rise over 20p

I think you've mistakenly added a '0' to the director share sales.

Surely approx 5m rather than 50m

I'm a little doubtful whether they can/will personally

as for the Dow, the banking results and writedowns will make for a real swim against the tide, can see 13000 being tested at worst scenario

there doesn't seem to be any regard for the massive director sales--touching 50 million, and some their entire holdings, if they were going anywhere, surely they would have reinvested?

Unless possibly somebody wanted that amount in the near future ie placed

Because ECB will probably cut rates and December's future expiry in the US has in 8 out of the last 10 years resulted in the DOW rising.

next week we have December future expiry plus ECB meeting for interest rates so should see both the DOW and FTSE rise strongly

why ?

so you're looking for a bounce around 650ish?
sounds good to me as a re-entry point.

BBD - Been following this for some time and I was also thinking that we could see a double bottom and change of trend. If I was going to top up here I would be looking for 650 or less by about Tuesday.

Double bottom coming maybe then we're off north imo.
CPI hasn't done too badly at all compared to some stocks.
Lots of value out there now just need markets to stabilise.

No, I would watch for the jump upwards - next week we have December future expiry plus ECB meeting for interest rates so should see both the DOW and FTSE rise strongly. I hope you folk took advantage of the dip this week, I certainly did !!!

Because if they didn't exercise the options they would have lost that right as they would have expired.

Options were not substantial in terms of their remaining holdings

So most of the directors exercised substantial options this week, apart from Mr Pindar. Why would that be, have they no confidence of the price rising in the near term and run up to the results at the end of february?

In fact if the BOE cut interest rates tomorrow the FTSE will probably have its best one day gain in four years !!! LOL

Listened again this morning to the conference call with institutional investors that took place yesterday - While many companies are looking to 2008 with dread, Capita believes a weaker economy could provide opportunities, as more companies seek to cheaply outsource the back office.More deals like the massive contract with the PRU.

Increased dividend, more special dividends, more share buybacks, more aquisitions, greater margins etc etc

I have topped up again this morning on the dip as I wanted to get in ahead of the expected interest rate cut next Tuesday by the US FED. The cut will ensure the DOW surges once again with the FTSE following suit.
