market cap is just 400m. Net debt without lease obligations is c. 150m . This is a very low enterprise value for a company with 2.8 billion of revenue

Dealy, if CEOs can only do well in a good environment then why pay the the big bucks. CPI have under performed the wider market by any measure so they can't blame the environment.

Yes, JL spins everything - they are still going on about the cyber attack in a positive way and quoting 0.1% of the estate (very misleading), whereas the reality is that they have leaked millions of pensioners' personal information and black listed themselves from winning renewal tenders on many of their pension scheme clients.

The £15-20m has now turned into £20-25m!...they haven't received the claims yet.

The market agrees that the results are rubbish. Share price down again.

Has JL done anything more than sell off big chunks of the business that don't align to a 'vision' to deal with the debt? It cannot be spun as positive as far as I can see, they are trying to show him out gracefully to pretend all is ok...hopefully the new guy comes in with some positive spin around dividends, they're not letting JL take that credit!

Its not that the company is doing badly that bothers me, it's that every statement is positive and promises that they are on track and growth is accelerating and so on and so on. But we never quite get there.

Normally upon reading the reports my first reaction is "not too bad". Then the share price drops.

This time it looks bad from the outset, cant see much except lots of words trying to put a positive spin on the negative aspects.

JL has been an utter disaster in my view and I cant see how any long term shareholder like myself can be happy. I have said before he over promises and under delivers.

I don't believe he has transformed anything, he has just sold a lot of parts of the business so that debt has reduced(not as much as it should have). If you sell off business divisions but end up with less cash then there is something wrong.

Follow the cash - seems to be going the wrong way!

"Pre-IFRS 16 net financial debt was £166.2m (31 December 2022: £84.9m) reflecting the free cash outflow and additional pension deficit payments of £15.6m triggered by prior-year Portfolio disposals."

Net cash someway off. Free cash ouflow and pension payments on disposals.

"Acceleration in financial performance" - really, positive or negative?

No dividend.

Still best avoided until the new CEO, stops the over optimistic flannel and kitchen sinks it in my view!
