Capita’s board will certainly know the danger of not declaring lost/ stolen data,, and if it’s correct that Basta have indeed got data , then it won’t go down to well.

I don't think the data has been removed from the site. It has been removed from the home page but can be searched for manually. I am hoping it is wrong but in all honesty the detail is too specific.

If personal data has been breached and they failed to inform the ICO, then this won't go down too well and a fine could be coming down the line. Not to mention the mass of compensation claims and additional costs........definitely they need to confirm what the situation is and come clean or refute the allegations in the press.

I’ve read the times article ,, and it would appear that the “ aledged data” has been removed from the ransom site .. so either it’s opportunist or Capita have paid them off ..don’t know how much they will have paid .

Capita need an RNS in the morning to put it to bed once and for all . It’s over 2 weeks since the episode , and I’m sure they would have known a week ago of any breaches of security ..

The Times/Sunday Times seem to have it in for Capita splashing their 'Capita faces deepening hack crisis' across the front page of the business section. If they are wrong I can see a lawsuit for the damage caused by their sloppy reporting.

I'm hoping for no additional update personally:

"The issue was limited to parts of the Capita network and there is no evidence of customer, supplier or colleague data having been compromised.

We have restored Capita colleague access to Microsoft Office 365 and we are making good progress restoring remaining client services in a secure and controlled manner.

We will update the market further, should there be a need to provide any additional information, in due course."

Any further update would likely be admission that the cyber incident needs to be upgraded to a data breach, that would not be good for the shareprice.

I assume that by declaring an incident, the implication is there may be material impact, if so, surely we are due an update, although the RNS is at best woolly on this point?
