https://www.oedigital.com/news/465443-drilling-down-deep If sentiment towards deepwater drilling is improving perhaps the Sangomar deep prospects might have more value than seemed likely a while back?

Agreed, there are better use of resources, although favourable with tax breaks and infrastructure, that is not reason itself to continue. Am excited by Mexico towards year end.

If you follow CNE, you will discover that Cairn Norway has drilled duster after duster. Subsidised by Norway but not a good use of human resource and cash flow. Management needs totake a close look and time a sale right. IMO of course.

News flow is going to push the share price over 200p before year end. Chimera spud in U.K. is exciting, Mexico spud right next door to Zama, successful farm down of SNE, sale of Norway business (hopefully), improvements at Kraken, India arbitration result. And M&A action is always on the cards. IMO there's value here which is why I topped up at 160p.

Definitely undervalued. The Indian award to be announced at the end of the year is likely to boost the share price massively. Expect a run up ahead of that. Then there's the inevitable SNE sale. I'm expecting a decent price for it. But I f they don't get it away, expect a rights issue which will knock the share price down. Norway seems to be a bit of a dog. Duster after duster supported by the Norwegian tax payer. They need to get rid. But as you say...one of the most under-valued oil stocks out there.

I hear what you're saying hoper absolutely and hold a small amount of these but I'll be honest I only really watch these as a sort of momentum play? That's why I thought it could go as low as 140p? I'm glad the DH is "out in the open" now although often easy to guestimate based upon what you can find out on the interweb these days! So actually it may pick up a little now and get back up to "around" 2 squid? I do see excellent value here - but more form the ongoing potentially high impact exploration programme. It looks amazing to be honest. Senegal will return money but as another poster on here I think the first EPS (is it EPS?) stuff will be low hanging fruit but any other extraction will be more "challenging" - it "appears" a LOT of oil but spread over a large(ish) area and not "that producible". India - mweh!! All imho and dyor folks!!

opodio & Dunderhead - It's true the share price could go that low, but that would be giving almost no (if any) value for it's Senegal business and writing off India completely. Surely it's share of Kraken, Catcher and Nova are worth £1.30/£1.40 per share. At the moment it seems to be the most under valued medium size oil company in the UK - the lack of debt makes it very attractive.

It seems to me that Cairn's record in Norway is nothing short of APPALLING. Reminds me of Tullow's acquisition of Spring Energy back in the day. At least Tullow had the guts to pull the plug on a bad investment. One hears all the noise about the Norwegian government subsidising duff exploration activity. I don't buy it. It's a waste of technical and management resources which could be better deployed elsewhere. If Cairn doesn't have any success with upcoming Wells in Norway, it's time to get out.

Tugs listed to move the Transocean Spitsbergen and so Presto may be finished, only three weeks doesn't seem too promising.
