This is microcap territory I'm afraid. We were spoiled on byotrol last year with all the TUs coming out because of the uncertainty (and excessive demand causing forecast upgrades) caused by the pandemic. But life here generally consists of full-year or half-year results followed by several months of waiting, with the odd material contract announcement.

So if that's right that we're not going to get a pre-close TU, then at least it suggests that they're not expecting to miss or beat market (i.e. finnCap) expectations by a significant amount. It would have been nice to beat of course, but I think more significant to value is what's going to happen to royalty revenue next year, and the longer they leave the TU the more chance there is that they will have something meaningful to say on that. Another thing that is material to future value is product and marketing development and again the longer they leave it the more chance they are able to say something meaningful on their plans for more marketing, advertising and promotion, and perhaps even on developments on any early work to convert the seaweed research into product.

There is also the possibility, independent of general TU, of further contract news, and if they are comfortable about meeting expectations for this year without the help of further licensing contracts, they may be hoping to close and announce something early next financial year to get things off to a good start. Apart from completely new counterparties, there must be a possibility of further contracts with:
o Tristel (expanding geographic scope of exclusivity)
o TurtleWax (direct contract with byotrol for areas outside the Americas)
