18/11/2020 21:19 | I don't think I'm too far wide of the mark - looking at the comments on this board - we've heard quite a lot of pain from disillusioned investors. As the share price has been languishing many will have lost patience and sold-out, taken the loss and moved on, others will still be on board. As they approach their break-even, the question is will they sell, hold or buy more? | maddox
18/11/2020 21:18 | Exactly - Woodford/Inveso mattered - retail bids much less so | williamcooper104
18/11/2020 20:55 | Interesting thought Maddox but, in my view, probably not a big factor.
It is true that you can quite read, on bulletin boards, comments along the lines of "I am really disillusioned with this stock, I'm going to sell just as soon as I get back to break-even".
It seems to me though that there is probably very little correlation between this kind of thinking and managing a large portfolio! | kazoom
18/11/2020 20:45 | I'm wondering whether all those investors in BUR that got in at higher prices and have been nursing their losses are going to come with us or sell-out? They are probably now regretting not picking up shares between 500 and 600p. But it's not too late. We're shaping up to break through the resistance and into the 800p+ territory. | maddox
18/11/2020 17:23 | I’m fact it’s appears US very low volume so not sure it’s having any effect at the moment | syoun2
18/11/2020 16:32 | I agree price definitely strengthened from 1.30pm onwards however just because it vapid a in the afternoon it doesn’t mean it’s the US unless I’m missing something. Be interesting to see how it performs when UK closes. | syoun2
18/11/2020 14:47 | Hi syoun,
Just have a look at today's intra-day share price chart - you can see what I'm seeing.

18/11/2020 12:39 | Worth saying the vaccine should be positive for BUR, with courts and law firms getting back to usual but a load of litigation likely to result (already there's a lot about insurance claims and whether they should cover Covid). It will be interesting to see how newsflow and PR works from here: we got an update in January this year, so will we get one in 6/8 weeks time? | donald pond
18/11/2020 12:38 | Hi syoun,
This is what I'm watching:
hTtps://www.nyse.com/quote/XNYS:BUR scroll down for chart and volume.
My interpretation of share price action contrasting AIM versus NYSE. We opened at c. 770p in line with last nights NYSE close, we then immediately drift down. Also, we're seeing price firming when NYSE opens. The dynamic, new US investors taking out stale UK bulls. Eventually new US investors will prevail and overwhelm UK selling. Just a matter of time IMHO. | maddox
18/11/2020 11:30 | What makes you say the US market is trying to push up price? Do you know Where I can get US only volume? | syoun2

18/11/2020 09:51 | NYSE doing its best to push-up BUR share price - with AIM pulling it back down, but momentum appears to be building. Once we're rid of the weak holders, we should see a decisive move up. On a p/e of 7.4 and PEG of 0.3 the valuation certainly isn't a barrier for this rapidly growing business.
The legal sector is a relatively new green field prospect for investors but exhibits the attractive high growth, high profit characteristics similar to the hugely popular Tech Sector. With c. 40% of BUR's revenue derived from the US BUR looks very much at home on the NYSE. | maddox
17/11/2020 18:06 | From Sebastian Maril tweet:
Argentina and YPF questioned the CEO of Burford Capital, Christopher Bogart, under oath.
- Discovery in trial for expropriation of YPF.
- The parties ask Judge Preska that certain responses to their testimony be declared confidential.
- Judge Preska agrees to the request. | cockerhoop

16/11/2020 20:28 | Geez, give it a rest. Anyone might wonder if you hadn’t been short all along....
I stopped at 300, however in the last 14 months, all bar 2 of your Advfn forum posts have been on the BUR thread. | lomax99
16/11/2020 19:16 | Yeah I guess your in your 30's, it might be good for your pension | rar100
16/11/2020 18:57 | Just reading over posts from the last few weeks after taking a break. US listing being a flop is mentioned a few times. On what basis and for whom? The objective of the US listing wasn't to give a short term share price boost for people wanting a speedy exit. The prime purpose from BUR's perspective (at least as I understand it) was to have access to additional sources of capital (hopefully at a lower cost) and a bigger pool of IIs. It will take a lot longer than a few days to know if those objectives were met. Patience people! Good things come to those that wait... | 1aconic
16/11/2020 17:04 | I guess the dollar price is the focus now; steadying above $10 would be a good base, while we await something more substantive. | time_traveller
16/11/2020 15:47 | Seems quite quiet here. But I guess BUR ist just following the overall market. | lazg
13/11/2020 21:30 | No chat on the late pop? | bogman1
13/11/2020 10:20 | Or,to use another simile used elsewhere last week, like a beached turtle on its back, flailing around aimlessly. ( Guess which politician!)
I suppose we can't be too surprised. All these top 100 AmLaw companies are connected in myriad ways.Burford,as the largest purchaser of legal services is connected or has done business with almost all of them.Of course the companies have protocols in place,'Chinese walls'as mentioned. It would be churlish to think the defendants are unaware of this. No,this is just another tool in the tool kit.If it's available, buys more time, let's use it. | djderry
13/11/2020 10:17 | Or a delusional president .....? | kazoom
13/11/2020 09:53 | Judge Preska is being extremely indulgent to Argentina and YPF. Surely they would have sought assurances that there was no current or prior connections to Burford from their prospective law firms before appointment - if this was as important as it now appears.
On the other hand, if you understand that your case is weak, and chopping and changing your lawyers isn't going to matter ultimately. Which must be hugely disruptive and time consuming as they need to pick-up, and acquaint themselves with the case. At least you can use it as a reason to buy more time.
Argentina and YPF are thrashing around like a dead man clinging to a live electric wire. | maddox
