And the key culprit, reports suggest, comes in the form of black market �thickening agents� like vitamin E acetate. It�s an age old trick among unscrupulous drug dealers: cut down your high-value product (THC oil) with cheap filler ingredients (vitamin E oil). How prevalent is this practice? We can't know for sure given the black market nature of the most THC vaping products, but all evidence suggests widespread use, including one Washington Post article that recently reported:

�In Utah, 90 percent of THC products tested in the past several weeks contained vitamin E oil, according to the state health department.�

In other words, the vaping outbreak is much more likely tied to underground �Walter White� style THC operations rather than legitimate products offered by the likes of Juul. But that hasn�t stopped the media and policymakers from conflating the two, leading to a widespread perception that legitimate nicotine-based vaping products are the cause of the lung disease outbreak.

"Vaping lung illness continues to spread"

A deadly lung illness linked to vaping has now taken the lives of more than two dozen people nationwide,�according to the CDC.

219 probable new cases were diagnosed over the last week, bringing the total number of patients to 1,299, but health officials still don't know what's making people sick.
Of the cases where doctors know what patients were using, roughly 76% of them said they vaped THC, while 13% said they exclusively used nicotine.

Bet more than 76% are vaping black market counterfeit vapes myself. So imo, legit vaping products are being unfairly smeared by people getting sick buying counterfeit products or using legit products incorrectly with counterfeit flavour/THC pods.."

Fitch warns on tobacco growth

On British American Tobacco (NYSE:BTI): "We view British American Tobacco as significantly exposed to vaping and the US market generally. Still, the company confirmed in September that it expected to generate GBP5 billion of revenue by 2024 from NGPs despite pressures in the vaping segment. Given its deleveraging trajectory its financial headroom should be restored by end-2022."

Just heard a report on CNBC that BAT vape sales increased by 31000% last month following the problems Juul have been having. That is not a misprint 31000%

It's becoming clear that JUUL vapes arent to blame but counterfeit/cannabis infused ones..This will come out in the wash soon.

FDA strengthens warning on vaping THC products


The U.S. Food and Drug Administration warns consumers not to use vaping products that include THC, the primary psychoactive ingredient in pot, in an updated consumer alert.

Also warns people not to modify vaping products by adding any substances and tells them not to purchase any vaping products off the street or from other illicit channels.

"At this time, the FDA does not have enough data to identify the cause, or causes, of the lung injuries in these cases," it said in the statement.

While no one compound or ingredient has emerged as the culprit in the string of lung injuries, "we do know that THC is present in most of the samples being tested," the FDA said.

The Centers for Disease Control reports 1,080 lung injury cases and 18 deaths associated with using e-cigarette, or vaping products, from 48 states and 1 U.S. territory as of Oct. 1.

FTC vaping probe gains steam

The FTC orders six vaping companies to turn over documents as part of the next step into its investigation into teen vaping, marketing practices and vaping-related illnesses.

The government agency wants data, ad spending info, social media details and sales numbers from Juul Labs (JUUL), R.J. Reynolds Vapor (NYSE:BTI), Fontem US (OTCQX:IMBBY), Logic Technology Development (OTCPK:JAPAF), NJOY and Altria's (NYSE:MO) Nu Mark.

I know. That's what I said: ex-d 3rd. October, so buying at less than the closing price on 2nd. less the dividend, is a good bye if you buy on 3rd. I didn't say anything about getting the current dividend, because you won't if you buy when it's gone ex-d. But you'll get all future dividends, which are paid quarterly, so a good price to pay for those seeking income.

And thank you, stepone68, for reading and understanding correctly. :)

And furthermore, the drop today must make this a great buy for income seekers, and a pretty good one for those hoping for capital gain too: it's undervalued, IMHO.
