19/10/2023 20:36 | Oil at $92.8 a barrel. It's a blue day tomorrow, methinks. I hope it's the 1 million barrel cut and not the impending war in the middle, which is affecting the price. | veryniceperson
19/10/2023 11:17 | Oil prices have slumped after the US eased crude sanctions in Venezuela, easing the risks to global supply caused by the conflict in the Middle East. Brent crude, the international benchmark, has fallen by 2pc below $90 a barrel after the US suspended some sanctions on Venezuelan oil and other commodities. Telegraph. | philanderer
19/10/2023 09:34 | A bit of profit taking today, only to be expected. Not to worry oil at $90 dollars a barrel, no worries. Results should be good in a couple of weeks. | veryniceperson
18/10/2023 16:50 | bp been stuck in this range for like 15 years. by form it will go back to £4.50. | hellscream
18/10/2023 12:42 | I notice that increases in the oil price at this level is having a muted reaction on the share price I fear that if oil goes down BP will go down even more ! Sod's Law | meb123
17/10/2023 16:48 | Greta Thunderberg arrested. Breaking news! | f56
17/10/2023 16:40 | Not a bad day ? | gilesy911
17/10/2023 13:58 | All this talk about BP being a takeover target and or can merge with Shell is absolute rubbish . For one thing and not that it was in the cards anyway , Exxon has already made its purchase . As far as BP and She'll merging it's not going to happen due to anti trust competition issues in the UK and in other parts of the world . | meb123
17/10/2023 08:34 | Is it too big a stretch to consider a BP/ Shell merger to create sufficient market clout to rival US peers? Even our Socialist current ‘Government | fhmktg
16/10/2023 18:05 | That's a good point but imagine the returns if you had sold near the highs (Which I think we are at) and then bought back near the lows of this cyclical business the returns you would have made. I'm not knocking BP just thinking we are maybe nearing the cyclical peak for now. | jason29
16/10/2023 17:32 | ive more than doubled my share count in the last 10 years in bp through dividends. 500p share is laughable, im after 800p-1000p to even be tempted. incresing that dividend is number one in my books. | hellscream
16/10/2023 16:52 | Shell hitting new all-time highs, while these seem to be struggling at 550.... Strategy is everything. Starting to get tempted to sell some if I'm honest. | jason29
16/10/2023 16:18 | Fwiw I think that at first the effects of, and reception by shareholders to the buybacks was muted at best, now the proverbial snowball is gaining mass and momentum and for those patient enough, this could be an absolute stonking investment decision, the relentless and persistent buybacks are very quickly turning into a positive driver for the share price and the accelerative effects are fast becoming apparent. It’s like doing a slowed down and reversed version of the age old analogy of starting with a pound and every week making 10% on it and after a year you have made 150 times increase… (or one of the many similar derivatives of that example …) well for those with the attention span greater than a newt, this is a similar situation but in slow motion. Luck to the patient, luck to the brave….. PS this is pertinent to both BP & Shell so I will post to both boards | adg
16/10/2023 08:18 | 7 month high @553.90p. | skinny
13/10/2023 16:49 | Ft 100 down 46 BP. Up 11. Not bad! See what happens next week. Oil is on the rise again. | veryniceperson
13/10/2023 16:42 | A close above 550 I guess was too much to ask for . Oh well there's always next week :) | meb123
13/10/2023 13:44 | We bounced off 550 pence.., no surprise there, but with WTI/Brent on the march again and the DXY softening, 600 pence might not be so far away.. :o) | laurence llewelyn binliner
13/10/2023 13:13 | Price target on this oneForgot I had a few it had become so boring : ) | richtea2517

13/10/2023 08:59 | Within a hairs breath from 550 . Will it or will it not today . That's the question...,,, | meb123
12/10/2023 15:43 | The markets are very kind to us today. Long may it continue. | veryniceperson
12/10/2023 14:11 | I doubt they will do it, but I would like to see someone from Trading take over the company. BP are too heavy on engineers in management. Trading gets hidden away on the results (although not in internal comms). My ideal future for BP is an energy-focused trading company with some high-value assets for trading to monetize. | viscount1
12/10/2023 09:19 | 10 quid within a year is a bit optimistic in my opinion. I notice from they piece that there were references to 2030 . GBP10 by 2030 I can believe! Lol | meb123 |
