Unless you can trade successfully then patience will be rewarded, I think that money in oilers is about as safe as anything and I also think that their day will come. Value will always out, the market and oil price swings are frustrating for sure but the companies are cash machines and at some point we will be valued in line with our US peers, I think later this year we will se a much fairer valuation

U.S. Baker Hughes Oil Rig Count down again this week (-5) now 540. US might struggle to keep above 12 MBO / day as I believe it is currently 12.2 MBO / day. Output cuts seem to be having an effect on Brent / WTI as the Russian's / Saudi's / Morocco all signalling cuts in the coming months. It was reported that Saudi met up with Iran this last week. My guess is that it was suggested they join the 'cuts cartel'. The POO next week should show a rise assuming the API/EIA numbers support the case. The last SPR release of 1.3MBO was this last week and the taps will be turned for filling starting August with 3 MBO... $73 a good price ; bet they have to pay more for the 3 MBO in September.

All in all this should help support the oilers going forward. Have a good weekend all.

These Micky mouse investments and ventures will do nothing to shareholder value . I know it's 2 different industries but just look at what's happened to Vodafone over the years . Decades of small deals and ventures just hadn't got them anywhere and shares at almost all time low . Hope BP is reading this ! Lol

BP and WasteFuel to collaborate on low-carbon fuels for shipping sector

July 6, 2023, by Ajsa Habibic

BP, through its arm BP Ventures, has expanded its investment in bioenergy by committing $10 million and leading the Series B investment round in WasteFuel, a California-based biofuels company focused on converting municipal bio-waste into low-carbon fuels, such as bio-methanol.

WasteFuel’s existing investors include Maersk, NetJets, Prime Infra, i(x) Net Zero, Marc Benioff’s TIME Ventures, Guy Oseary, and Aileen Getty amongst others, and now BP.

WasteFuel plans to develop multiple bio-methanol plants around the world in collaboration with local strategic partners including waste companies. With the investment from BP, the company expects to launch its first project in Dubai and it has a pipeline of additional projects to develop.

BP and WasteFuel have also entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for BP to offtake the produced bio-methanol and to work together to help optimize and improve bio-methanol production.

By deploying its anaerobic digestion and methanol production technologies, WasteFuel aims to convert municipal and agricultural waste into viable lower-emission alternatives to traditional fuels, like bio-methanol, which has the potential to contribute to the decarbonisation of the shipping sector.

In the effort to reach net zero, some of the biggest companies in the shipping industry are converting to methanol-ready ships. BP said it is working to establish supplies of lower-carbon alternative fuels for the shipping sector and will look to use its trading expertise to bring WasteFuel’s bio-methanol to market.

Hope bp are seriously considering it also - it’d be a great big (expensive) FU to our blinkered deluded leaders (and opposition) - the idiots would probably see it as a victory whilst we continue our downward spiral into a self inflected 3rd world country….
