Yeah a big drop which I didn't expect considering what was said recently about those short on oil should beware ahead of the OPEC meeting.

Oh well and it gives a buying opportunity I guess and a chance to average down again!!

To pay for the incredulous amount of social welfare……;. Nobody wants to work anymore, nobody needs to work anymore… and the ridiculous system rewards the lazy scroungers yet penalises those who actually work and contribute - people on the multiple benefits don’t have to worry about inflation running away as so much is provided - no idea where it will end the way thing are, it really worries me
Just look at the number of registered disabled (10m!) or long term sick (2m!)…. Says it all
Anyway- when is bp gonna get out of this rut?

Encouraging movement today . Assuming you are long here just came across some analyst targets . I know most of the time they are not worth the paper they are written on but it's always better to read positive targets . Barclays have retained 1000p , Goldman 700p . Lowest Jeffries at 530 . Hopefully if we don't get a recession it will be much more than 530 this time next year :)

saw a paper showing effects of inflation 20 years ago, £1000 is now worth £250.

explains how BP were £7 in 2000. whats that 90% down in 20 years then.

Not much support from oil price. Slightly stronger dollar might help.Markets going sideways until interest rates peak is confirmed.

I think it's impossible to explain the day to day movements on the oil price if there is nothing obvious eg OPEC cutting supply. On CNBC the usual reasons are China demand uncertainty outweighing tighter supply or vice Versa. The market makers will choose one because they have to !

Dont worry. The yanks are predicting peak shale production is pretty close then they say control of the worlds fossils is predominately in the hands of Saudi and UAE and Qatar. The Tories are saving ours for posterity and to save us (and the Middle East) from the horrors of climate change

80p drop in a month, buybacks working? was £6 in 2018 while we had 21 billion shares in issue.

getting tired of hearing the word recession every day... we just drop 5-8p every day while they say it.
