Armageddon was built in to share prices though... this is just the start of the upward correction (never in a straight line though so they will shake vigorously at times)...

Given the change in direction in the US, shale production will reduce dramatically and that is going to be good for the oil price. My view is that the oil market is now primed for consolidation. The only way the big operators can maintain margins in a lower oil price market is through efficiency and the only way they can achieve efficiency is through scale. The bigger the scale, the bigger the savings.

BP is now priced at a level where it could be taken out and pay for itself within a decade. That’s crazy.

I think this is a massive opportunity, possibly a once in a generation opportunity, to make life changing amounts of money within the next couple of years.

It’s a bit like the commodity crash in the credit crisis. I remember buying KAZ shares for just over £2 a share and watching the price increase to £15 within two years. It was a wonderful experience. Now, we may not get quite that sort of return from BP, but the return here could be delivered much more quickly. And that’s likely to be in the form of a foreign takeover.

You’ve probably guessed by now I’m long BP. And Also Shell by the way...

Good luck to you all.

Salty.
