I don't think the oil price situation is going to be much of a drag on the likes of bp and Shell for much longer my friend. The fact we found the Covid weapon is going to bring company value to the forefront and oil drifting in and out of the 50's 40's and 30's will be just be seen as meh

Some mms going to rob a load of shorters money tomorrow. Media has seeded some negative news today to give the impression the city is not confident of a recovery. However rumours of imminent vaccine news afoot, The city is now very much on the gravy train of travel and energy. Wouldn't it be a fine thing if news drops on Friday the 13th. Got to be brave to short this tomorrow, if you kept it open today then that's a risky bet.

MODERNA TO REPORT PHASE 3 DATA IN THE COMING DAYS - FT

Anthony Fauci, the leading US infectious disease expert, predicted positive data from a second Covid-19 vaccine could come quickly on the heels of this week’s strong trial results from Pfizer and BioNTech.

Moderna saiD on Wednesday that it now had enough cases to begin the interim analysis of data from its phase 3 trials.

Some 30,000 people had been given either Moderna’s vaccine or a placebo, and 53 people had now tested positive for Covid-19, the company said. The positive cases will be submitted to an independent data monitoring board, which will compare the number of infections in the placebo group with the number in vaccinated participants to examine the vaccine’s effectiveness.

My personal approach to BP is have some invested, and average down if it does drop, the following news could drop any day and that will cause another surge and this time break 300. "Crucial Moderna Covid vaccine data is coming in days"If this drops tomorrow I will laugh my socks off.

I think you are right, the surge was very much overdone, no after deliberation it's fizzled out. Add to that profit taking and we start a new trough. I got out at 2.36, and I'll get back in at 200... or I might just end up sat cash rich!!

Optimism about a Covid-19 vaccine powered markets higher at the start of the week, but has been since waning as investors and health experts raise questions about when it may become available for widespread use. A vaccine could give the economy a shot in the arm in 2021, but it will likely take longer to heal the blow to jobs, investment and businesses.

"People are waking up to the reality of how long it will take to roll out a vaccine. I'm not a medical expert, but it seems unlikely that we're going to very quickly revert to the pre-Covid world," said Sebastian Mackay, a multiasset fund manager at Invesco. The shape of the economic recovery is "starting to look like a double-dip, to a large extent."
