26/7/2016 09:40 | I've had my short closed out this morning for a 20 point profit. I'm now wondering whether my target should have been a bit lower but systems are systems and discipline is the key so I must not grumble. | bigdazzler

18/7/2016 21:43 | Good evening Bracke, yes I have been enjoying the weather and a light liquid refreshment in Selby in the lunchtime (not my local area but Mondays I have things to attend to there.) I do hope the weather changes for the better on Wednesday as the plans are to ascend Kinder Scout this week after managing the summit of Mam Tor last Wednesday. Now the week after not sure yet, maybe move south to Wales and join Penycae on his travels...must get the co-ordinates of the bacon butty stall first though :-)) ....Last minute change of plan. Kinder off for this week ;-( | optomistic
18/7/2016 12:43 | Good day optomistic I trust you are enjoying the weather. Make the most of it, all change on Wednesday. In the meantime here's a chart for you to contemplate. You will note that the share price has dropped below the ML. It may just be a retrace to 440-445 but if it drops below that the probability is 412. If the retrace holds and continues the rise past the major swing high at 464 the target becomes 487. BP. DAILY | bracke
15/7/2016 20:08 | I agree, the one advantage BP gained from that disastrous episode was the forced sales of high-cost/low-margin assets to cover the bill. They were paid big premiums for those assets compared to book values and got a leaner and fitter in the process. Good job they extracted themselves from TNK, albeit at an operational level. Divi at current prices is looking rather generous to say the least. | cashandcard
15/7/2016 19:45 | Good article Skinny. On the face of it, the DWH final liability figure of $62bn would appear to be nothing less than an unmitigated disaster. However, there may be a counter argument to this (tragic loss of oil worker's lives excepted). The forced asset sales, from 2010 onwards, occurred during a period of rapidly rising oil prices (sales to BP's peers who most probably overpaid for those same assets damaging their own profitability). Plus extreme cost cutting can't have been a bad thing. Having weathered the storm, must tee BP up nicely for the future. | septimus quaid
13/7/2016 15:39 | bracke....your post of 88291 could well be spot on for BP to retrace down to 412....if the news of post 88292 do unravel by a late reaction over the coming days then BP could lose 50% of the rise from 360 to 463 currently...that would bring it down to 412p...463p - 51.5p = 411.5p...No Advice Intended... | diku
13/7/2016 12:50 | Good day Penycae Either will result in unpleasantness. You will note I have not yet drawn a 'down' PF. The 'C' pivot is not yet evident to me. | bracke |
