It appears the Celtic language originally developed in the far west and not in central Europe as had previously been thought ( the La Tene and Halstadt theories).
The Far West is Portugal and western Spain ( Bronze age) Britanny, Ancient Britain as a whole, and Ireland. Read The Celts by Alice Roberts.
There was no " invasion" of Celts, we are nearly all simply decended from the original neolithic incomers just after the end of the ice age.
Ancient British language , Briton, I'll call it, is mostly a form of what we would call early Welsh. ( even in south East of Scotland , eg Pennicuik, Pentlands , Pencaitland ) . The great connection was - the Atlantic seaboard, ideas and trade came and went by sea.
Don't have time here to expand on it further. I will copy this post and paste it in the MISC thread just now, if anyone is interested in taking the topic further
H.

cycled through Carbis Bay a couple of times in last week. St Ives to Lnds End is a great stretch for anyone visiting. If you cycle, the views match the coastal path and bowt ways OK.
No oil rigs in site, so probably not a lot to do with BP. Even if a good place to contemplate a bit of reduction v continuing to enjoy the upward trend

opto - I know that walk very well. Used to walk St. Ives to Land's End on the coastal path in another life. Would come back on the open topped double decker, hounds an'all! Happy days.

Storm - Caldicot, now there's another story!

Peny, we possibly walked past each other then in town, although we were at Carbis Bay so a little bit out of the way for the evening time as the train doesn't run late as you probably know. We enjoyed the 3/4 hour walk into town on the coastal path but too steep for me on the return journey.
So glad Mrs Penycae is happy with her LTBH...makes life run smoother doesn't it ;-)

Different time zones here in the Principality opto. All to do with the proposed referendum on Welsh independence. We're trying to line up with the Caymans for tax purposes. People in Llangwm want their accounts to be accessible at all times.

Yes bracke, interesting markets. All I'm doing these days is trading EZJ and cable. Got to say that Mrs P. is very happy at the moment with the ltbh plan.

Interesting to hear that you'd been down the South West opto. I had some proper work to to do in St. Ives last week. Stayed down there a few days. Got some long standing connections, and many happy memories from past times spent there. Still holding a few bits of property down there. Market very strong.

I lived in the North West for a number of years and visited a number of towns but I can't remember visiting Huddersfield.

Good chap Harold. Not appreciated until years after he had retired.

sicker, static holding...progressive dividend. It makes BP well worth holding, I particularly like the four payments a year :-)

optomistic, for a static holding I received £690 in June, £755 in September and in December I am expecting £800+ assuming dividend held at 10c. (an increase would be nice)

It made Harold famous that did Bracke. Even placed a statue of him outside Huddersfield station...guess you will never see that being from the deep south :-)

Thank you sicker, it is the way I thought but wasn't sure.

"Do I understand it correctly that with the £ being weak against the $ that the divi paid will effectively be higher re that?"
==================================================================================

I don't know much about the BP divi structure. If the divi is calculated in $ and then converted to £ that is better than calculated and paid in £.......but the £ in your pocket is unaffected, remember that?
