13/7/2016 10:58 | Good day optomistic You will observe that the share price having reached the ML (middle green) it is tracking it. The question now is does it have sufficient strength to reach the last major swing high at 4.8675. The MACD suggests that barring some buying pressure it has just about reached a top for the time being. If that is the situation a retrace is probable, to 440 if you'r lucky, 412 if you'r not. Given that the oil price appears to have stabilized dire forecasts are unsuitable. BP DAILY | bracke
13/7/2016 10:06 | diku, my charts show me that BP is back in the Bollies but I suppose different timescales on charts show different things. Bracke is good with these things...G'morning bracke :-) It does look to me that BP could come off a bit from here but having thought I had done well to sell some at 455 what I see must be taken with a pinch of...whatever ;-)) | optomistic
13/7/2016 09:42 | Looking at the header charts BP is completely out of the Bollinger bands...profit taking has to kick in sooner or later...nobody is going to ring the bell!...think 475p could well be top max for now... | diku

12/7/2016 14:07 | Penycae, thanks for your reply, sorry it took a long time to respond but had to go out in a hurry. Mrs Penycae appears to have a similar approach to the market as I but a little longer term than myself... but has the added advantage of yourself and the monkey for guidance :-)) Good afternoon bracke. | optomistic
12/7/2016 13:06 | Penycae I read that when the current LCG owner took over there was a fair amount of discontent at the new culture. As you post he appears to have total control; very risky. | bracke
12/7/2016 12:40 | bracke - good to hear you had some money to take out! That's not the way it normally works. Capital Spreads once put £50.00 into my trading account as they noticed it was my birthday. That bought a lot of loyalty from the monkey. The new platform took some getting used to, but I trade on it most of the time. Still use CMC and IG, but I rely on my own software for charts etc. Just as an aside, I took a look at buying some equity in LCG. It's bombed out enough to be a recovery prospect, but the financing is a bit weird. Virtually controlled by one man, who can do what he likes. Decided against it, but still watch it. If it moves upwards, it could be a good play. | penycae
12/7/2016 11:08 | Good day Penycae Interesting to read that Mrs P is invested in kettles of fish, far sighted now that we are exiting the EU. I had been with Cap Spds for a number of years but the change to LCG caused me to leave. I found their platform complicated and cluttered. There appeared a change of culture. I took umbrage when I was 'phoned to ask why I was taking money out of my account!! | bracke
12/7/2016 09:33 | Morning Opto - no, Mrs. P's stuff is a different kettle of fish. She's long term buy and hold. Strictly paper, none of this flash stuff that the monkey puts me on to. Over the years she does very well. I think that's because she's not looking at the market every day. I'm doing this for income at the moment. Using the new LCG platform to place trades. That has a very good provision for providing monthly statements. When you see the overview, you're not afraid to close some positions at a loss. It's where you are at the end of the month that counts. | penycae
12/7/2016 09:19 | Good morning Peny, have you sold all Mrs Penycae's as well? | optomistic
12/7/2016 09:09 | Morning all. Sold everything again on the 8.30 candles. I know QE is in play, but the DOW is high enough to warrant some profit taking. Going to take things steady for a few weeks. Banked some profit for the time being. Left more than enough in the sb account to buy back if the boys start playing the dark side. Trade well and prosper Earthlings..... | penycae
09/7/2016 21:51 | A stronger $ and a stronger oil price spells 'nice' for BP. The yield here warms my heart. | value king
08/7/2016 14:24 | Yes, always been a safe trading share. If you get it wrong (either way) it'll normally come back to you. Swings lately make it even more attractive - 10p. today, which is good enough for a four quid low margin share. | penycae
08/7/2016 13:44 | Think BP is worth playing with just the moves rather than buying for the divi... | diku
08/7/2016 13:42 | Brickies doing well today. :0) | penycae
08/7/2016 12:55 | Yes but worth keeping it on your watch list. | bracke
08/7/2016 12:41 | Will do bracke. Just looked...£2 too late I think :-/ | optomistic
08/7/2016 12:05 | Ref Divis Have you looked at GSK? Worth a look as and when the share price drops back. | bracke
08/7/2016 11:27 | Good morning bracke, looked like topping out yesterday so took 50% of the table at 455. Will be buying back if possible as the divi is my interest...although worthwhile gains can't be sniffed at. | optomistic
08/7/2016 10:46 | Good day optomistic Below is a very pleasant chart if you are a share holder or long but now is decision time. The share price has reached the ML (median line) in spectacular fashion it now has to decide if it is going for the UP (upper parallel) or retrace. BP. DAILY | bracke
07/7/2016 13:22 | Good afternoon bracke good to see you are still 'around' :-) | optomistic |
