Under normal circumstances 364 could well be a good level at which to buy, I would consider doing so myself.

The problem is that the situation is not 'normal' because of slow down in China and supply/demand for oil.

It is possible there will be a rally from 364 but how high......390 but that is no more than an inspired guess.

Hi Bracke...364 is not very far away now so if I put an order in at that the share price would be sure to rise and it would help many especially Penycae who chose to be a little impulsive like myself :-/

Good day optomistic

'Are we there yet' you ask.

On an intraday basis it may well be and if you sit quietly and don't cause any bother it may kick up at the end of the day.

On a longer time frame it would be a pity that having come so far it did not test the low at 364.

Yes all to often PI's tend to do that on fear of it going down again...

The trick will be not to sell too quickly when a losing position turns into profit.

Morning all.
Another day, another dip. Three quid is always a possibility, but I think that 365 will probably do the trick. This puts it in an established price range. I'm prepared for that, and will add if it gets there.
I'm in here from 386.51. I'm not going to add to that position above 365 whatever occurs. You can see what's going on. Share being driven down to an "acceptable" low (whatever that might be). The trick will be not to sell too quickly when a losing position turns into profit.
I can see why the monkey tries his best to keep me away from equities. I opened a binary option account yesterday. If BP continues in this fashion, a two hour binary call from here might be a good idea.
mbthedude - just given you the thumbs up! Good for my karma.

Trade well and prosper.....

The current price is too stale...it needs to have another dip for it to have a technical bounce back up...hope not but I fear a revisit to 300p capitulation sometime in autumn...

True Bracke, the last few years have been a trial for the holders,I have not held BP (edit:recently)until my recent two forays (looking for a turn round in the company's fortunes) too premature it seems!
Sleep well and be up early in the morning☺

Not extreme at all. Look at the share price and history of the company over the last five years.

I assure you that I am a cheerful person especially as I sold most of my share portfolio some months ago which will not surprise you, me being an Elite Guru as you are well aware.

Maybe that was the original reason for the injudicious purchase. It's only use now would be to drown sorrows.

BP is a truly wretched company. If it's not one thing it's another. It has the kiss of death about it.

I commiserate Penycae.

I look at the chart and think that your best hope is for support at 364. I will refrain from looking lower.

Perhaps monkey was not fully focused upon his return from holiday. He probably needs a good dose of Welsh weather to bring him back to reality.

It needs to drag its self above 380 otherwise 364 appears likely.

The USA are set to become an OIL exporter

Just in case anyone here thought US Shale OIL was not going to last long

''U.S. oil companies are expected to get approval to trade oil with Mexico, in a move that market observers are calling a milestone in loosening a four-decade ban on selling U.S. crude overseas and which may help support oil prices.

Meanwhile, managed money positions on Nymex oil prices remain near their lowest in nearly five years after a recent wave of liquidations. Money managers added 14,468 bets on lower prices and added only 1,996 bets on higher prices, the latest CFTC data showed.

Amid potential new oil supply from Iran and OPEC's high production, an oil price below $40 a barrel is increasingly possible should bearish sentiment escalate further, economist Barnabas Gan of OCBC Bank said.''

Morning all!
This share never fails to disappoint. Looks like there's a bit more downside to come. Just had a look at RDSB. That's heading South as well, so it's nothing personal.
I'm prepared to continue to hold these. Got them on a CFD. Plenty of margin, and a fairly generous stop. To sell (or capitulate as the boys like to call it) would just be the same as consenting to a mugging, and I'm well over that.
Just off with the dog, then it's back to forex to cover the rent. Not likely to do that here for a week or so.
Trade well and prosper.........

Time to Buy Commodities
Sentiment on energy and gold -- and oil and metals stocks -- may be nearing capitulation. Now is a good time to lean against the wind and start to buy.

Looking at the header chart nearly all day the price stayed below 380p...not a good sign...this has been walked down in a controlled manner since May with the odd small technical bounce up....just think capitulation still to come....no doubt those HFT might just be targeting 300p again....hope not but never say never...No Advice Intended....
