Why would oil go so low as we head towards winter?

Makes no sense.

Who saw the current oil price 12 months ago, practically no one.

Crude would need to be well under $40 for that to happen imv,
barring a major stock market crash, which would also probably impact the oil price.

Plenty of ultra bearish calls for oil atm, then again a year ago plenty of $150 calls
were doing the rounds.

Visa33...I have had similar thoughts that BP could well have a revisit to 300p again...those who bought first time around 300p thinking they bought into a lifetime opportunity might well be disappointed...probably would have been wise to sell around 450p and above with some divis coming in...the days of buy and hold forever seems to be out of window...No Advice Intended...

Doesn't a 'double-btm' mean it has to touch around 298 again (like 2010) before it can TRULY begin to rise again (with glory) towards 500++ ?? ///

///(Dow now topping, realistic re-assessment of our value after HUGE chunk 'stolen' after the Gulf fiasco, a lot of trouble comm'n to the W.economy with interest rates headed back up and no more QE, EU breaking up, 'Putin-probs', 'ISIS', China seriously over heated and lots of surplus oil Iran-style C/o Obama/Kerry 'deal'...?????)

Just a thought...

IF Oil stays strong this afternoon, I think BP will go for 410.

But for that to happen, Oil will have to break yesterdays's highs, and that hasn't happened yet..

Well, Brent has, just, WTI, not. Not yet I hope!

Congrats to anyone who had the guts to buy late Monday amid the gloom,
always easy to buy when everyone loves something and that usually marks
a top.

Good graph there, and as you know, different graphs tell you different things, depending on how they are set up.

The sma20 looks to be around 417 as well, on your graph there Skinny.

The 20dma on the dailies is currently at 417.40p.

I think that might be achievable short term.
