Well I thought RDSB(short term) had more milage as mentioned last week pre results.

RDSB sub 1750 was an utter steal, that was like buying BP sub 3.60 IMV.

Essential

Yes it probably does but BP does have the ability to 'do its own thing'.

Oil recovered to just above $50 a barrel on Tuesday after touching a six-month low in the previous session, although high global production and concern over the economic outlook in China weighed on the outlook.

As already mentioned, this may not be your usual oil-price decline. But it’s also not crude’s first appearance in the 50 per cent club

Chevron is down about 8% on the last 2 trading days, XOM at about $78.

It's entire sector carnage.

Wonder if last week's rise from 384p to 405p was just a technical bounce?...to cut the divi or not to cut the divi story will just run and run....whilst those AT trades undo the damage...this is one way of destroying good companies in the PLC casinos....

smurfy. Iran have millions of barrels stacked and ready to export as soon as sanctions are lifted. Once they start drilling in earnest there be may well be a glut of oil.

diku, I suppose you would have to look at a chart of Brent v BP/RDSB,
there will not be an exact correlation - as a rough guide I usually think
1% off the oil price is about 0.5% off BP/Shell - not sure how accurate
that is.

Sometimes it will make you wonder if the Oil price has any direct correlation to shares likes of BP, RDSB and others!....its a casino!!..even the well respected bond investor recently said this market has turned into a shell market with all these QE's around the World...

smurfy, I would be guessing so no idea.

I try to look at the share price and as mentioned with RDSB this week sub 1750,
and BP last year sub 360, they looked like decent buy areas from a risk/reward
basis.
