In that same vein I implore the vocal minority of anti-American bashers here to put the Gulf incident behind them and look forward to this company's prospects and stop flailing themselves so publicly over its past faux pas and f&ck ups.

You have something of the Carpetbagger about you.

This is an honest thread for honest folk. Investors who are prepared to grow old whilst waiting for their beloved BP to deliver a few pence and be grateful for it!

Reference to the dark days of 297 are not appreciated. There are those of a fragile nature who hide behind the sofa at the mere mention of it.

Please refrain from all mention of 'those days' when things were at their darkest.

‘…Assuming you are not one of those 'here today, gone tomorrow' Trading Johnies you would consider buying following a break and hold above 400.’

Well I never! As if! Who’d ever have thought it of the ‘B’ in BP…! I am NOT one of those types… only want to come in on BP when I’m reasonably sure which way she’s heading, and right now, u can only guess ‘a little bit of this, and a little bit of that…etc’;. Any day in that, and a bid (or just ‘talk’ of a bid) is dangerous…or further to fall not so healthy too. (…for trading Jonnies, that is.)

For an INVESTOR, like u & me, (&P) we just plan the best time to buy, then politely hold till it recovers big time. Like 2010, and ‘297’. Oh the days… So…??

You don't want much do you!

This share is sickly, not feeling at all well having donated large amounts of cash to the deserving citizens of the USA just because a bit of oil was spilled.

As to where the share price is going.......an increase in oil price would work wonders. Not having the ear of OPEC puts me at a slight disadvantage meaning that I have to rely on the charts.

Assuming you are not one of those 'here today, gone tomorrow' Trading Johnies you would consider buying following a break and hold above 400.

If 380 fails to hold then you would stand aside and see where it settles.

That's the best you'r going to get from me. If monkey is not too hungover from his hols Penycae maybe able to cajole a view from him.

You 2 (B.P.) just don’t seem to be taking any of this seriously enough! Is she going to double-dip again at 297 – and if so, before or at the Euro disillusionment. Or phase 11 of the China economic collapse… or ‘Putin-gets-his-own-back’ time… Or ‘Obama-sorts-out-ISIS’ (chuckle giggle/yawn). Interest rates start back up (and up, and up, and up etc.)

C’mon chaps, F O C E A S T S how soon pls/ I want to know when to come back in!

Afternoon all.
Got back to the Principality late last night. Spent all the rent, so need to make a few GBP before the month ends.
In here at 386.51. It's a larjwun, but I have to go out this afternoon, so I want something fairly safe. Nothing worse than someone nicking your chips while you go to the bar.....

...i wonder if '...there is pressure for an overall devaluation' of the Euro as well...or even, as my friend Nigel wanted (wants),’devaluation’ in Greece right out to the drachma…
(Hang on, didn’t the Greek PM campaign FOR the country to ‘say no’…)

China has de-valued again another 1.1%

My 10% forecast some might have thought a tad excessive

It could turn out to be much, much more

China is a busted flush

The lower Yuan will mean they will bargain hard to buy commodities cheaply

Their actions cause deflation in the west as they try to export their pain and problems overseas

Cheaper commodities will help them do that

Over the next 12 months they might even devalue by 20% ... the chinese government is getting somewhat desperate

China central bank under pressure to weaken yuan further

BEIJING | By Kevin Yao

China's move to devalue its currency reflects a growing clamor within government circles for a weaker yuan to help struggling exporters, ensuring the central bank remains under pressure to drag it down further in the months ahead, sources said.

The yuan has fallen almost 4 percent in two days since the central bank announced the devaluation on Tuesday, but sources involved in the policy-making process said powerful voices inside the government were pushing for it to go still lower.

Their comments, which offer a rare insight into the argument going on behind the scenes in Beijing, suggest there is pressure for an overall devaluation of almost 10 percent.

The divis appear ok currently but could be under pressure next year unless the oil price rises.

You may find this of interest.

Good day optomistic

380 needs to hold. If it does there maybe some resistance intraday at 384.

The next Daily resistance likely at 390.
