16/7/2015 18:39 | Good evening Idioterna I don't follow RDSB so had not picked up on the gap. BP. having got the trifling $30 Billion 'out of the way' they are now seen as 'running clear'........until the next problem. RDSB need a spill, clean up, fine and then they will be considered a good bet. | bracke
16/7/2015 17:07 | hope it stays this price for 5 more years :) | hellscream
16/7/2015 12:24 | optomistic It would be understandable to consider that the worst was behind BP and that the share price should improve, how much is another matter. Unfortunately BP has acquired a 'reputation'. Hopefully results will overcome the reputation. | bracke
16/7/2015 12:10 | bracke, which will give continued weakness for some time to BP? Being more positive the results out on the 28th may well surprise us and give a boost to the share price ..it could of course go the other way but is there any more 'bad' to come from BP, seems to have had its share over recent times. | optomistic
16/7/2015 12:03 | "This drop perhaps due to the weak oil price?" ==================== Which in turn is due to the prospect of more oil on the market due to the Iran agreement? | bracke
16/7/2015 12:00 | "the work adds depth to your guru status :-))" ==================== Thank you optomistic. I will take your comment at face value. | bracke
16/7/2015 11:55 | This drop perhaps due to the weak oil price? | optomistic
16/7/2015 11:21 | Good morning bracke and thank you for that very thorough explanation, I will keep for reference...the work adds depth to your guru status :-)) | optomistic
16/7/2015 11:06 | Good day optomistic The share price is being held above the last swing low which was 414 on 16 March. A fall below that level suggests a continued drop may occur. It is being resisted to the upside by a descending Daily SMA 200 currently at 438. As the Daily SMA 200 descends and the share price is 'squeezed' there are three possibilities: 1 It breaks to the upside and is 'free'. 2 It breaks to the down side and looks for support. 3 It continues sideways and by default passes through the descending Daily SMA 200. Looking at the Daily chart shows that it has attempted to break above the Daily SMA 200 on three occasions since mid June. If it does drop to 400 you may want to look at the chart to see what it did when it got there. | bracke
16/7/2015 10:22 | Morning Skinny, Thanks for the info on cmc/IG. I will check them out before deciding who can take my shirt! | rickyy
16/7/2015 09:44 | JP Morgan Cazenove Overweight 426.83 - 475.00 Reiterates Citigroup Neutral 426.83 450.00 435.00 Retains | skinny
16/7/2015 08:51 | Good morning all BP doesn't seem to want to go up but on the other hand it wants to stay above 420. My target was near 400 but it looks like I am going to have to lift that to be able to buy. | optomistic
15/7/2015 15:03 | Is one of the chuckle brothers on holiday? | skinny
15/7/2015 14:50 | Ricky - I use IG and CMC - both very different and both worth looking at. | skinny
15/7/2015 14:34 | "they have credited my account twice on my birthday!" ==================== WHAT!!! That really is too much!! "What they both have in common is that they'll take the shirt off your back given half a chance!" ==================== oh yes! | bracke
15/7/2015 14:32 | Thanks for the update Penycae. I know they will fleece me given half a chance but I only intend to dip my toe in those shark infested waters. | rickyy
15/7/2015 13:58 | Afternoon Rickyy. The two front runners in my book are Capital Spreads and IG. Capital Spreads are less aggressive than IG, and believe it or not they have credited my account twice on my birthday! IG's charting is second to none, although Capital has improved tremendously. I use them both, but favour Capital at the moment. What they both have in common is that they'll take the shirt off your back given half a chance! | penycae
15/7/2015 12:29 | Afternoon Penycae, I'm thinking of opening a SB account to increase the merge returns of normal trading. Can you recommend one or are they all pretty much the same? | rickyy
15/7/2015 08:53 | Morning all. Perhaps we should spend some time on the darkside today Luke. Short DOW 18054. Watch cable after 9.00am. Off with the dog. Trade well and prosper Earthlings...... | penycae
14/7/2015 11:19 | 62 points in a couple of hours. There should be a law against it!! It was that "nice Mr Carney" what did it. More bling to the monkey. | bracke
14/7/2015 11:09 | That was a very nice spike on cable. Could have had a lot more out of that but for the limit order. Still, always leave a bit in for the next man. That's what makes the market, and it beats digging coal. Don't be tempted to get on the dark side there. Buy any decent dips. Done for today. Have a good one, and be careful out there... | penycae
14/7/2015 10:51 | Closed cable 1.5564. Just over 62 points. Hope you had some of them. Monkey looking well pleased. | penycae
14/7/2015 08:58 | That was quick. Four minutes to get the red hand. CPI data 9.30, then that nice Mr Carey speaks later on. Bear this in mind if you trade cable. Off with the dog..... | penycae
14/7/2015 08:53 | Morning all. Yeah, he's all blinged out and sleeping peacefully after a late one last night. Booking Ferry crossings for Mrs. P who's spending some time in France with the tribe later in the month. Feeling the benefit of the strong pound with the hotels, but the Ferry Companies seem immune. Just gone long cable from 1.547. It'll be a bit shaky around 9.00 am (as will gold) but I think it's due a bounce mid morning. Trade well and prosper.... | penycae |
