Adding music etc How does copyright infringement cope with all these social influences video creators/players cope with what was a professional tool. Could there be legal repercussions for BIRD?

One media has software that identifies unlicensed music being played, so will anyone using tracks on edited videos find themselves with an issue or will it be BIRD as the software allows the attachment without paying fees?

At first I thought elevator was a great move but now I am less certain that the company has the resources to meet all the challenges that have not even been thought of yet.

Yes, cyber, thanks. Freudian slip. I do mean elevate and I have edited it.
Perhaps Envisage would have been better?
Although, in my opinion, brand names should never begin with a vowel; they are weaker and harder to remember.

Horneblower your post 13936, I trust you mean elevate.io :-)I don't remember VisiCalc as I was only 9 when it launched :-) However your memory fails you about VisiCalc, Lotus, and Excel: neither 'transformed' into the other, the first went bust, the second faded away and the third cleaned up... But there's still a parable in there for Elevate becoming the Excel of video editors! (Avid being the fade away example)

jamesjmb,

I meant think most consumer ediotrs, they have a load of music and effects that can be added to a video. Of course I can upload a track etc. but not having those features means there isn't really a fun factor to bring people in.

Not having the editor features means there's not really a professional reason to sign up. I guess if two could collaborate on the same video, that's be cool but not seeing that either.

Nick, what do you think the likelihood is of being able to handle .mpg and .wmv formats in the future?

I really love 'frame accurate' in the cloud.

Are we the only company that can do this?

Frame accurate is a definitive statement!

It’s accurate to the frame you can’t get better than that in video

The Editing video viewer is pretty large and dominates the interface.

When you export it cleverly goes to the original footage and builds (conforms) from that so you get full quality.

720p is pretty good and I suspect with the paid version it will be 180p , just a guess.

I pass on those.

Presumably Avid don't have rights on things like use of the JKL keys?

I imagine they are generic to the industry.

If the codec is being used at the summer and winter games whose name cannot be mentioned but begins with an 'O' then presumably the answer is yes.

A more technical question. Does frame accurate mean the same as frame perfect and does resolution play a part in that? The play window is very small so presumably contains less information, and can look better, than a larger window. Is the codec capable of driving a larger screen whilst retaining the same frame accuracy at a higher resolution.

The exported files are 720p
