22/3/2024 13:59 | Haven't tried the audio yet. I assume there are plenty of other existing editors which do much the same thing, so I'm not able to say if elevate.io is any better or worse. However, the ease of working in a browser, combined with the smoothness of the interface makes me like it a lot. As for collaboration, That's another thing altogether. | ![]() horneblower
22/3/2024 13:38 | Hornblower What a sales man! But yes video editing is powerful story telling! Experiment with different music to the same video edit that’s always a good one | ![]() nickb
22/3/2024 13:32 | OMG, this is getting exciting. What a gas vid editing is. Why didn't anyone tell me about it earlier? All I'm doing is cutting and pasting snippets of videos together to produce something completely bigger and more dramatic. It takes a while to get to grips with it and I still don't really know what I'm doing but I can see already that it's a very powerful tool. Can't wait for a brief explanation of what the different parts do and how to use them best. I reckon I've gone from 0% to 20% familiarisation in about 20 minutes. Fantastic piece of software. Well done guys. | ![]() horneblower
22/3/2024 12:17 | Hyper Different users will need different tools. YouTube creator app is not our market. And anyone using it would find it difficult to make a living and you wouldn’t expect say a Fortune 500 companies communication department to use it. | ![]() nickb
22/3/2024 10:43 | NickB Hope you have used 'Create' 'Create' will soon be good enough for top end YouTubers. YouTube have made it quite clear they are going to expand its functionality. Hopefully they will create a laptop version as well, because like you say it's not suitable for serious editing while it's stuck on a mobile. Making it easier for creators is essential and YouTube now seems to be ahead of it's competitors on this front. I think we could become a target from YouTubes competitors who need to catch up with these recent YouTube developments. | ![]() hyperal
22/3/2024 10:37 | Note that I have no experience of video editing so ignore whatever I say but you'll be delighted to hear that finally I'm cookin'. MP4 home clip uploaded and rolling. Lookin' good. | ![]() horneblower
22/3/2024 10:21 | Hyper Different market Go and edit a 3 min film with say 30 clips and some music and you have to build a story not just join 30 clips together and let’s say you have 2 hrs to do it. Can you do that with YouTube creator? It would be painful on your phone Oh the footage is not on your phone What do you think? | ![]() nickb
22/3/2024 10:11 | I'm currently using YouTube 'Create' ( ) for my videos (short and long form), it's fantastic, does everything I want to do on my phone for FREE (well currently, as it's in Beta) and certainly worth downloading, but only available on Android mobile, not iphone or laptop. I do all my filming on my 4k phone these days, but despite the above app being excellent, editing on the mobile is not great for my eyes, so looking for a laptop solution. I need to try the above app on a tablet, maybe that would help my eyes. I was hoping that elevate.io would at the very least use some of the same functionality in the free version as in the above app. | ![]() hyperal
22/3/2024 09:51 | Hyper - I agree. It's disappointing when nearly 30 months after the fundraising we are still not good to go. Despite being reassured Q1 was the date. And also when we are burning £300k a month and funds are clearly being used for overheads and salaries and not marketing. It's fine to acknowledge the process and advancements but also acknowledge that the BOD has again over promised - an addition to a massive list. Per the accounts, the spend on Elevate is not even that much c. £1m in 2022 and £1m in 2023 or about double the spend on the BOD during the same period. | ![]() bonio10000
22/3/2024 09:45 | Hyper You are seeing the front end ‘free version’ The back end is complex and built for scaling. I’m sure that’s taking a lot of work! The free version looks simple and that’s good design, and I’m sure in their lab they have the paid version with more features. | ![]() nickb
22/3/2024 09:25 | Interesting part of the presentation after 59.30 where Sumit covers target sectors and emphasises it's a generic product that can be used by any part of the market, social media, the finance sector and moved on to TikTok Shop which has exploded in popularity. Sumit used the can of coke analogy - it can be drunk by anyone from someone on the street to the President of the U.S. To summarise what he said with some specifics on TikTok:- Creators for the ads promoting TikTok Shop products need an appropriate technology to build these adverts. There is an area of interest that has grown up during the trial period. Historically they didn't favour the short-form for elevate but the trial period highlighted opportunities and these creators for the likes of TikTok Shop ads do need a more professional editing platform. The prosumer market is starting to look a lot larger than I envisaged. | ![]() nick2412
22/3/2024 09:10 | tegell1 These software systems are ALWAYS in development. elevate.io has been in development for over 6 months and will probably continue to be as long as it exists. does the current version of elevate.io look like six months hard work? I don't think so. The team at Blackbird don't sit on their hands doing nothing! When will we find out what they have been doing? I hope that will be the day I have waited 25 years for! | ![]() hyperal
22/3/2024 08:59 | The elevate.io project was announced in an RNS on the 14/09/2023 just 3 days after the 2024 summer games announcement. Things don't add up, I mean the current version of elevate.io appears so basic it's almost laughable considering over 6 months of development and with Cresh and Forscene code at hand as well. I mean the team at Blackbird are far more productive than this. I just assume lots more is happening in the background. I will use elevate.io, but it would be nice to know what the benefit is to the company, because not much benefit for me with its very limited fuctionality. Obviously I am a Blackbird fan and hate sounding negative, I'm just desperately waiting for that day of transparency! | ![]() hyperal
22/3/2024 07:41 | I think we need to get our heads around this being still development phase ( as PC highlighted Sumit response on bb results investor-meet recently) We are privileged to be in on the current product and the best thing we can do for our investment is feedback on the snags. Hopefully they can be sorted quickly to release to the next more important truanch of potential customers with a more finished platform. | ![]() tegell1 |
