23/3/2024 07:21 | I'm blown away by this software. Amazing achievement. I used Eva briefly. It wasn't up to much imo. elevate.io is on another galaxy. | ![]() horneblower

22/3/2024 23:20 | I have put some coin on it, thanks for all that info Nick | spoonmuff
22/3/2024 23:15 | Nick, you wrote, "If you have a video clip on track 2 over a video on track 1 you will be able to dissolve from the clip on track 1 to the clip on track 2." Is that by separately fading one track out and fading the other track in... or is there a single, one-stroke method of doing this? | ![]() horneblower
22/3/2024 23:07 | Thanks Nick. I hadn't figured the JKL keys or even the left/right keys to move a frame at a time...it gets better and better. | ![]() horneblower

22/3/2024 21:08 | A badly and quickly written getting started cheat sheet that may or may not help you Blackbird elevate Prep Create an account! Use Google Chrome Prep some HD MP4 video files short video's will make your life easier say 1-2 min Possibly download some short video’s from YouTube (Google YouTube download for free software to do this) Good idea to create a folder on your computer for these files. Start Log in to editor.elevate.io Very clear simple interface Top Right Hand side Click the Blue button +Create Project Top Middle it says ‘Untitled̵ Type in a name for your project New Tab opens Left hand side is the place for your video footage Drag each clip you prepped from your computer folder (1 at a time) to your web browser. It will say uploading,, then it will say processing You should see a small thumbnail of the clip. (If it says failed you are using an unsupported video file, MP4 h264 is absolutely the most common and should be fine) The above should be super simple after the first time. Then you are good to start editing. Editing Drag a clip down to the timeline 2 strips should appear Blue on V1 Green A1 (possible to go to other tracks but keep it simple for now) Timeline Use JKL keyboard to Play forwards (L) Pause (K) and Backwards (J) Double tap to double the speed (Now you are an Avid editor)! You can also grab the blue vertical cursor left and right with your mouse this will move you around the video faster. Note how smooth it all is. To scale the timeline "control' on the keyboard then scroll wheel on mouse. This is a frame accurate video editor so Use the left right arrow keys on your keyboard to move a frame at a time. Find the point in your video to do a cut Click the Scissor icon then move you mouse to the cut point and then click Congratulations you have made your first edit. Then Select the arrow symbol Hover your mouse over the cut point and observe the symbols on either side, these are your trim video tools. Click and drag each side to see what they do You can also drag the timeline blue green tracks left and right Play around get a feel Hope that helps get you started The above soon becomes super simple, then you can start being creative | ![]() nickb
22/3/2024 19:49 | 'it all sounds a bit Heath Robinson at the moment with the bugs and with the lack of simple feedback support etc.' Clocktower All working for me, very impressive base to rise from. Known issue is you need to use Google Chrome not Safari (they are working on that fix) Lack of documentation but I'm sure that's coming. Hornrblower had an issue with login which is worth them knowing about, and its a very simple website link button fix. Not aware of any bugs as such. | ![]() nickb
22/3/2024 19:13 | " there is just so many things missing " I am making an assumption that there is one complete platform and for each level of subscription certain features are either turned on or off ... available or not.. At this stage you would have to assume that only a few features are switched on ..and to keep people on the journey, once in general release more will be switched on Interesting the collaberation feature is available early , and other more basic features people are accumstomed to are not.. It is early days , early release ...speaking to 300 people, focus groups, 60 testers.. "fantastic" early feedback ..clearly there is a lot more to come It seems it is just for basic testing, at this stage with giving early impressions, Some great feedback from this group...thanks to all... | ![]() pokerchips2

22/3/2024 18:59 | On feedback... Thanks, cabi1 for the address. The message with that address was there when I signed up, but disappeared straight afterwards before I memorised it. Also, the address for feedback is www.elevate.io/suppo However, the main news from my point of view is that, although somewhat limited, the initial offering is a joy. It is stable, fast and good looking AND it already has the ability to collaborate (they use the word Share rather than Collaborate). So, this is just the base platform on which everything else will hang and it is imo excellent and gives me great confidence in the future. AND it's still March!!! | ![]() horneblower

22/3/2024 18:01 | Just got access today. Positives. Very smooth, can change the settings while playing which is cool. Negatives Like NickB, there is just so many things missing. No titles. No composite editing features for professionals. No audio features apart from volume. No transitions. No opportunity to add music like with the previous onlinevideoeditor I don't understand what they are trying to achieve. In saying that, I used black magic a while back for a music video and I had a pretty good laptop but I would often become sluggish. elevate is really smooth. It's a really excellent interface and love how a the second clip moves into a different track automatically. In saying it's smooth, it's extremely limited. It feels like it has not enough fun features to attract an amateur audience (e.g. music, stickers, etc.) and not enough editing features to attract editors. It seems to be hitting the sour spot of no market. I hope it gets updated soon. Very slick interface but I'm genuinely starting to feel nervous about my investment. What's the strategy? | ![]() mcsean2164

22/3/2024 17:01 | NickB, I just caught up with the thread and although it is due to be released in Q1 2024 it all sounds a bit Heath Robinson at the moment with the bugs and with the lack of simple feedback support etc. What happens if they get thousands of customers getting in touch with them, having found minor bugs? They will need a fully trained support team, and that is going to cost in the short term. Maybe they have not thought this public release through sufficiently, can you imagine the bad publicity if the support is not there instantly to resolve matters. You just have to look when things go wrong at ADVFN - the world is going to end, due to frustration, if response is not forthcoming, instantl All very well skipping the BIG clients but the small fry are there in numbers BUT it has to be right from the start imo. I will be staying out for now as I think they need to prove the product first, and then I am sure the social media feedback will tell us if it is time to invest. | ![]() clocktower
