I registered and the collaboration seems to work fine for us. Quite neat actually.

I’m not sure that’s true they have much more to show.

I still believe in my theory 😂

It's absolutely clear from the joint SR/MV video that it is conceived as a step away from linear working towards collaboration and that team working and easy accessibility will be key features of the pay for product. It's also clear that they will not clutter up the offering with software that is not wanted or rarely used.

Out of interest - Concentrate just shared a project with me.

So I assume you can collaborate.

I got an email saying:

Cyber

No collaboration on the free version

It’s all looking very promising for the paid version

Seems they are a decent way away from a mass adopted and sellable product then.

And the initial expansion in users is half baked.

Who would have guessed.

Personally I think it needs a title tool and some starter video elements like animated backgrounds and some library music

It possibly needs a help button or something if you have no knowledge

And a community website!
All seems possible.

Most importantly and my absolutely big takeaway yesterday is it needs an upgrade path to the paid version

NickB.

Do you think there’s enough on the freemium package to impress people, and convince them of it’s potential.

Horneblower, if you're uploading MP4 videoclips that you can view on a Windows PC/laptop, bear in mind that they will probably be H.264 format. Perhaps Elevate (or this early version) only works on the latest H.265 standard?

Maybe we should invite Sumit to join this thread to see people's comments :-) (that's if he isn't a lurking member already :-) )

it sounds like there needs to be some Tutorial videos to show Users how to do certain things ...get them comfortable with getting around the Interface

maybe..when the General Release comes there will be a YouTube channel for these and linked in the website ?

Without tutorials or such like , to some Users it could seem like being asked to build an IKEA Wardrobe without any instruction booklet !!!

I use Chrome.

It downloaded first time, no problem.

Its appearance is smart, clean and businesslike and looks as if it will be fun.

I'm not a video editor but would like to give it a go, so I'm looking forward to using it.

I have plenty of bits of video to try it on, mostly mp4 family clips.

Most won't upload. After dragging the MP3 file in to the square, it "processes" for maybe 10 seconds then flashes up "Failed to Upload".

Finally, I have uploaded a 36second MP3 file. I took about 10 seconds to upload, then about 30 seconds of processing. So, now it is sitting in the box showing its thumbnail, filename and length (36s) but there does not seem to be any way of actually editing it.

What next?

Thanks, NickB. I wonder whether one of the reasons they’ve held back adding more of the obvious features is to get people to try collaboration. Have you?

P2 it’s early access they are not getting customers just find it, think it’s missing bits then leave. I would imagine all those teething bits will be finished before launch.

Anyway just had a little top up and will do so a couple of times a week up to 10p. It won’t be in the 5p’s for long once the interviews etc upon launch start.

Hopefully they're holding back on lots of tools that will be available in the paid version. A title tool does sound like an obvious one that should be in the Freemium, I assume you can take the Elevate output video and add titles in other software? A little frustrating, but perhaps that's deliberate to encourage paying up?
