No no I think you misunderstand, at the moment the club has to expend considerable sums maintaining a listing as I understand it on the exchanges.
Listening to this and after a rotarian meeting with a club official there would appear to be no objection to share certificates continuing to be held and for these not be be valueless,or unattractive documents, he spoke of issuing new ones indeed the club would be pleased if an exchange system existed but you see its the plc board in the way you see really an obstacle now to finding new investors for Birmingham City to become a top premiership club. The board of the club has to get together and seek for new investors and the PLC board only has one independent director who is a good local sort of person and the PLC board otherwise is the same chaps as the football club board and we have to first identify new investors to come in and to put it on a footing with Manchester you know. Please don't feel that anything is being done that is bad

Hang on a minute. I bought these shares as an investment only - I am not a football supporter of the club. Other people have expressed an interest in buying the club so it definetly is an investment. It has paid directors, paid players, fans to pay for match tickets and it has the potential to do well in the league and get promoted. As it earns more money it can add better players/facilities etc. - all of this sounds like an investment to me.
If a number of fans want to buy some shares for other reasons than making money then that is their choice and I can understand how a strong supporter would want to do this or have them shares bought for them as a gift. But for the rest of us then its about the investment potential and the pfoit on the upside.
I hope your request for such a meeting with the club does not happen, or if it does your proposals are rejected.

I have written to the board. Having spoken to a large group of fans we would like the shares delisted and to give them back to the club to help them out financially.
We don't think our club should be an investment. We are well paid and we only bought shares to help the club. We are concerned that if the club did not have to worry about its share listing it could invest in young talent and hold ticket prices. I have been asked in for a meeting next month. I am the councillor covering the ward the ground is in.Anyway share certificates are not the sort of thing to be in a normal family home.

Another good first half performance, this time rewarded with a few goals. Second half we took the foot off the pedal. Wednesday were shocking.

Nice to see Reading drop a couple of points.

A bit of action on the share price today - maybe more takeover speculation? Just hope that if it happens again it gets sorted quickly this time and doesn't screw up the footballing side of things like this time last year.

A good reason to stay until the ref blows the final whistle. A lot of the people by me had left thinking they had seen a goalless draw. Bit fortunate but, as has been said, a win is a win and starting off on the right note is incredibly important. Plus the shares are up a penny! Let's hope they do that every time we win!

They are on mine too and have been since the fixtures came out!! Hoping that we can take advantage of the early kick off and be top of the league come 3pm and then stay there for the whole season!! KRO

Gradual ticking up of the share price over the last couple of days. Not sure if this is pre-season kick-off optimism or something more. Worth keeping an eye on as I haven't really looked too closely at these shares for the last few months but have them back on my radar now.
