Cameco Corporation a truly major mining company specialising in uranium

Interesting uranium price chart. Uranium pricing has had a dreadful 2016:-

Also play around with Cameco's interesting web-site.

The MARKET INSIGHTS SECTION is interesting as is the SUPPLY AND DEMAND section which talks about Current Market Uncertainty.

A much more BALANCED review of uranium by a highly regarded company compared to the one-sided/blue-skies scenario often painted by certain parties and their pets on this bulletin board.

QP/kreature: I think you are getting your postings mixed up....it is 'QP' that is supposed to be the buyer in waiting not 'kreature'!

Good. If this is with the highest court in Spain at the moment, then I don't see any rush to buy shares just now, because I would have thought that these things take time. Looking forward to your reply from the company.

seems to me that herlat and his pet poodle pedro are keen to see the El Pais story off as quickly as possible.

maybe herlat/pedro are the same poster.

one can but wonder to oneself why herlat/pedro are so twitchy, sensitive and proprietorial about anything to do with Berkeley.

as they are so nervous about the Spanish press, my recommendation is that herlat/pedro write to the company and ask if there is any substance to the El Pais article about the Audencia Nacional. herlat/pedro can then post the reply here.

Anyone seen the play, Waiting for Godot?

Agree Piedro. RCF clearly did extensive due diligence and satisfied themselves before investing.Or is it that QP/kreature and Langostino want to keep the story alive as long as possible?Guys how about you write to the Company and post the response on this Board for us all to share?

Either 'The National Court has admitted an administrative appeal', or it has not. All that matters is the truth, so that sound investment decisions can be made here.

Lango who are you representing with these carefully worded posts? You are not a shareholder, nor are you are a short. Why are you and QP spending so much time posting on this blog? You are very well informed on all aspects of Spanish media and seem to be on the ball with every article published from the national down to the local press and the obscure online local blogs. Could it be that you are in fact a lot closer to the source of these articles than you are letting on?Presumably RCF's legal and other advisors in Spain do not see this commentary as anything other than noise and have put their money up to prove it.

Seems clear enough online : La Audiencia Nacional ha admitido.....

'The National Court has admitted an administrative appeal against the decision of the Ministry of Industry to authorize the controversial project of a uranium mine in Salamanca. '

Never mind the press, this seems to be with the National Court now, imo

'The Audiencia Nacional (English: National Court) is a special and exceptional high court in Spain. It has jurisdiction over all of the Spanish territory,' (Wiki)

Finanzas is a serious 'city' paper appealing to the Spanish investment community and is published by the listed Vocentro group which owns ABC and other conservative media. Whenever the undated email was posted, and whatever media comment it was referring to, it is a wholly insufficient response to the growing evidence of widespread opposition to this project at political and judicial levels.

Today's RNS about the issue of equity:-

Proceeds will be used for

1. Infrastructure works at Salamanca

2. EXERCISE OF UNLISTED OPTIONS.

I'd like to know the split.

langostino,

Here is a repeat of a reply from Paul Atherley ...

"Many thanks for your email. We are aware of this article and other similar copy.

As I'm sure you know, certain green and left wing groups in Spain and elsewhere are opposed to any form of nuclear energy, despite the fact that the there is widespread policy support across the EU for nuclear generated power as a clean energy source. Leaders across Europe are now realising that a clean energy future requires nuclear and renewables, not just renewables.

These groups will take any opportunity to publicise their case with the left leaning, student style publications which exist in abundance in the region. These publications, which are usually online only, will print virtually anything they are given without any form of context or basic fact checking.

The claims that we are having a negative impact on the town are simply not true. We are expected to be the largest investor in an economically depressed area, which has suffered badly from rural desertification and intergenerational unemployment. Our investment is expected to significantly boost the regional economy by creating long term jobs, increasing skill levels through training programmes and establishing important infrastructure which will benefit the whole community. We have signed a cooperation agreement with the highly supportive local municipalities which in addition to significant royalties and taxes provides priority to the employment and training of local residents and the preferential support for businesses by sourcing goods and services locally.

Some of these articles give the impression that the those living in the area are against the opening of the mine. Again, this is untrue. Our project is located in an historic mining district so those residents are well aware of the socioeconomic benefits of having an operating mine in the area, and as such are fully supportive of the project.

A much more authoritative and reputable newspaper La Gazeta published an article which we believe better reflects the strong community support we have for an investment which is going to generate over 450 direct jobs and in total over 2,500 indirect jobs in a community that has high levels of unemployment, particularly among young people. Please find the article copied below for reference.

Job creation is the number one policy goal for each of the major political parties in Spain and we are very pleased with the contribution the Company is making in this regard.

If you have any other queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.

With kind regards,

Paul Atherley
Managing Director"
