27/9/2009 20:11 | I think we can work back from the multiples of lending which the FSA intend to enforce and calculate where property prices are heading. Looks like a return to 3 times annual income. | gsands
11/9/2009 17:46 | Four directors collectively sold nearly 2m shares @905p to realize nearly £19m ! Not exactly a vote of confidence in current prospects ! | masurenguy
03/9/2009 13:51 | Anyone any views on prposed director compensation scheme as highlighted in The Times today. Seems to be way way over the top, hope that the institutional investors vote it down ssords | ssords
04/8/2009 10:39 | I wonder how many people got caught in the bull trap? Maybe the same will happen here as BKG breaks 1000p? | gsands
04/8/2009 10:36 | The American housebuilders had a very convincing rally in the summer of 2008: and the market probably convinced itself that the worst was over.... | gsands
04/8/2009 10:33 | Still watching this one. Looks like it's getting swept higher by the general mood of the market which seems to think that the worst of this recession is behind us. I don't believe that for one moment, so I am busy sitting on my hands and hoarding cash, ready to weather the second half of this storm which will be much worse (IMO). | gsands
06/7/2009 12:38 | time to switch the computer and go on holidays. | josels
01/7/2009 16:01 | In the past, quite often, the share price has had sudden large movements , based on that, I hope this will go to 900 p soon. | josels

01/7/2009 09:13 | For info, a copy & paste of my discussion with diku on the TW thread: diku - 30 Jun'09 - 19:55 - 20248 of 20267 Just read in the media on the market report from yesterday's action...not sure if below has been posted before... Housebuilders were weak after Robin Hardy, a KBC Peel Hunt analyst advised clients to "sell" every British Housebuilder saying that house prices were set to fall much further, amid a lack of mortgage finance and as buyers' ability to meet payments would be hit by flat wages and mounting taxes... Diku, Thanks for that info. Last week Mr Hardy wrote a note (below) on Berkeley Group, with numerous mistakes and errors, so I think your news is extremely bullish. Error 1: The Share Price was about 800p not 1,015p Error 2: "The market has turned and BKG has not" - BKG being the only large public housebuilder to have raised capital to purchase land Error 3: The group is committed to returning more than this (300p) through special distributions and buy-back. Therefore, the group is not yet in a clear net cash position for making new investments. - This is complete and utter rubbish, BKG changed stratgey ages ago and will not be returning 300p per share & instead will use it to invest in land Cheers, laf :o) | lafiamma
30/6/2009 16:35 | If this company is governed by fat Tony, then you'll already be aware of its illustrious pedigree............ | mindthegap365
30/6/2009 16:33 | This company will buy for pennies plenty of land (this is what we have been told) What a closed in a bad day, tomorrow more. | josels
30/6/2009 16:19 | Does that fat ignorant Tony still run this set up ? | mindthegap365
30/6/2009 16:16 | lafiamma Very kind of you Many thanks J | josels
30/6/2009 13:04 | A quick google search uncovers this TMF forum post: "4. Likewise on sales, the shareholder has to disclose any sale that reduces their stake through an integer percentage. Similar disclosures then need to be made as above until the shareholder reduces their stake to below 3%. Below 3% there is normally no need for further disclosure." | lafiamma
30/6/2009 12:40 | Lafiamma do you have a reference? thanks | josels
30/6/2009 12:38 | "Mr. Saad selling may be closed to finish. I am waiting for RNS that says his holdings are less than 1%" Josels, Saad is already below 3%, therefore any further sales will not be announced via RNS (unless the disclosure rules have been changed over the past few years?) | lafiamma
30/6/2009 10:47 | From memory correct me if wrong NAV around £6.11 of which cash per share around £2.5 (around £250 Million in the bank)and only £1Million debt Mr. Saad selling may be closed to finish. I am waiting for RNS that says his holdings are less than 1% PE should be less than 10 for this year, looking to the share price chart, IMHO should move to the level before Mr. Saad problems were announced. House prices have been going up during the last 2 to 3 months, this should help to the sp My target by mid of June 870p Dyor | josels |
