12/6/2007 10:31 | New CEO Simon Pryce started yesterday. AGM statement in April was positive. Latest US acquisition completes later this month. Only worry is reported numbers will be affected by any further US$ weakness. The weak share price looks like a chance to top up? IMHO and DYOR. | bigbertie
08/6/2007 10:32 | think a trading statement is due at the end of the month, hopefully it should be positive and get the price up again.. | denpot

29/1/2007 19:39 | how about the State of Dubai? an investment that is about airports, kerosene and private jets sort of sounds right for them. just a complete guess...... | bigbertie
29/1/2007 11:45 | i've heard a few people mention that the aviation side could be a bid target, just wondered what company/companies would be interested? | denpot
24/1/2007 16:28 | RNS just released. Looks as if it was the Prudential buying on behalf of itself or its clients!!! They now own or control 28,217,173 shares or 6.85% of the company | johnsoho
24/1/2007 15:06 | Well spotted JS. Aviation stocks fared well yesterday in US so hopefully will rub off here too. | bruce meinhoff
24/1/2007 14:38 | Three very large buys just shown of 3,000,000, then a further 600,000 and then finally a further 1,574,993....someone | johnsoho
02/1/2007 13:29 | Surprised that there is not more interest in this share at the moment. This was John Waples. a Sunday Times business reporter, tip of the year for 2007. Following ia a link to the article: He suggests that in the long term this company is unlikely to remain independent and I think he's probably right....as always time will tell!!! | johnsoho
19/12/2006 08:14 | Looks a very useful contract and not a peep for weeks and then you look at the so called hot stocks... gotta larf. CTN. | the novice
28/11/2006 10:21 | How much effect will the weak $US have on BBA results - any ideas? Killieboy | killieboy
23/11/2006 11:06 | BUY rec in Shares Mag - time to sell!!! | killieboy
20/11/2006 23:08 | Yes, richjp, I know how many shares I've got! What I want to know is how to apportion the original cost between them. Regards, Ian | jeffian
20/11/2006 18:34 | I have been notified by my broker that in place of my old 1,500 BBA Group shares I now have: 375 Fiberweb shares and 1,260 BBA Aviation shares I will let someone else work out the formula! | richjp
20/11/2006 18:20 | Anyone know the formula for apportionment of cost of 'old' BBA shares between 'new' BBA and Fiberweb? TIA. Ian | jeffian
17/11/2006 10:41 | at last, Fibreweb gone. BBA (the aviation bit) is already doing better. | bigbertie
24/10/2006 09:47 | demerger details out - I think it's absolutely the right thing to do and just hope it all goes smoothly. The disappointing Fibreweb forecast is a pity but I'm not surprised. Seperately the two businesses are likely to get much fairer market ratings, to be able to focus better on their own opportunities and problems, and could both be subject to bid interest. But the excitement has been dulled a bit by the reduced level of dividend, the combined dividend will be about 2.7% of current share price. in the long term I shall hold and maybe add to Aviation - the prospects should be good with a big increase in private and business aero activity as public airports become clogged with higher passenger numbers and stifling security checks. Not so sure about Fibreweb, but given the competition in the sector, bid interest is not impossible...... any other views? | bigbertie
18/10/2006 13:00 | nice to see it rising, must be something to do with the Fibreweb spin off? i also know that all expenditure has been put on hold in one of the aviation companies? any relevance to the S/P rise? | denpot
12/9/2006 15:03 | Doing well today | dally4
31/8/2006 12:54 | Drop well overdone....IMO | dally4
31/8/2006 09:30 | Yep, moi. I propose a new law - that any Chairman/CEO that uses the word "re-base" (as in re-base the divi = cut) should have his tongue ripped out and sliced into small pieces in front of him. I always remember Norwich Union (as it then was) "re-basing" it's divi because, it claimed, its divi yield was twice that of its peer group; the market responded by "re-basing" the share price so the divi yield stayed the same and the share price halved! Aviation side here looks OK. Fiberweb a nightmare and, as they can't sell it, we're going to end up with shares in both. Not my most exciting investment! Regards, Ian | jeffian
31/8/2006 08:39 | Well how wrong can you be - I should have read the trading statement more carefully - the £4m is only the cash cost (in the first half), but the interims also contain a massive pile of provisions and write-downs, and the dividend has been cut as well. What a disaster. I should have seen it coming - anyone else unlucky enough to be still involved with this lot? | bigbertie
30/8/2006 10:28 | Interims tomorrow. I hope to see profit before tax of £50m (after the £4m charge for Fibrewed restructuring). There should not be any other exceptional charges because they did not mention them in their statement. The price has been rising nicely, probably in expectation of more announcements tomorrow on the Fibreweb demerger - they just have to get that over with. | bigbertie |
