22/12/2005 09:29 | I have mnow had a look at the article, Madaboutmoney, thanks, for others who have not seen it mentions Cazenove's 387p sum of the parts valuation, and although it thinks this could be a bit toppy, it says once Fiberweb is gone, bid speculation is bound to begin. It has a BUY rating. | royaloak
21/12/2005 23:54 | After a considerable time in the doldrums BBA share price looks set to make significant progress as news of its future plans and current trading situation become more widely known. I'd now expect to see some broker upgrades and recommendations. | networker
21/12/2005 20:29 | Great write up in today's Daily Telegraph on BBA. | madaboutmoney
21/12/2005 10:39 | Think that we will see some consolodation now, the news is out and good so short termers will think they can find a faster mover in which to put their money in. No problem with that, but I will add on the dips as I am looking further ahead. | royaloak
20/12/2005 09:25 | got a few more this morning at 321.5ish ...surprised they were'nt marked up actually... | ibpatel
20/12/2005 09:21 | Excellent statement today, sale of Fiberweb on target, increased earnings on the aviation side, very pleasing! | royaloak
12/12/2005 20:17 | At interims they had £566m net debt (80% gearing) I think. If Fibreweb sold for £700m cash they could have net cash of 130m, or of course keep a reasonable level of net debt of (say) 250m and return 380m to shareholders. Just my casual calculations - DYOR of course. | bigbertie
12/12/2005 13:48 | denpot Cannot be precise about cash, but hopefully deal will be complete by March at the latest, then in my opinion the aviation side could still be worth the existing cap. Patience needed perhaps, but todays pattern looks very similar to previous weeks, loads of sells being absobed, today at 316, delayed buys will show later, ie a big buyer about! | royaloak
02/12/2005 12:56 | any idea how much cash this company has at present, if they sold fibreweb then that would be millions more cash making there aviation division a prime target surely...? | denpot
30/11/2005 14:35 | Ibpatel Thanks for that, I had missed it. Price action very interesting, before 308 was a significant level, now there has been equal trading at 313, hopefully this is the new support, and we can move on to 318 and then the twenties! | royaloak
27/11/2005 11:31 | a lil snippet from the sunday express: * BBA Group set to kick off the £750 million sale of Fiberweb following interest from a number of suitors nothing new here, but its good to see the "number of suitors" bit. ibp | ibpatel
21/11/2005 16:41 | Amazing, after hours Friday LGEN announced that after purchases they now have a notifiable interest again, so what made them change their mind? | royaloak
18/11/2005 12:40 | Not sure if anything is imminent, could be the big sellers have been cleared. On value alone this has been held back compared with the rest of the market recently, I am looking for a gradual move up above 325 and then a big jump when the corporate action starts. Of course I could be very wrong, no advice intended, DYOR. | royaloak
18/11/2005 08:28 | somethings happening behind the scenes? maybe the materials division has been sold... | denpot
09/11/2005 20:54 | I'm sure you are not wrong - the 2 businesses are very different so separation should increase the focus on the air service stuff, and maybe make it a bid target - of course they need to get a good price for Fiberweb, but analysts seem to think they should. I'm staying in. | bigbertie
09/11/2005 15:13 | Big sell of 18 Million shares this morning at 308.5, i'm guessing it could be the remainder of LGEN's stake, caused a bit of a panic. My reasoning is that is good news as in the next day or two we should find out where the shares have gone, because there must be a willing buyer to take them. Took advantage of the dip and bought more, perhaps I am wrong so please DYOR. | royaloak
07/11/2005 16:10 | More selling, this time by LGEN, they now hold below 3%, price still showing strength and good support around the 308 mark. | royaloak
03/11/2005 17:37 | bigbertie Obviously then it was Aviva offloading around 308. The good news is that around 9.5 Million shares have been bought by new entrants, probably north of 308. I have bought a few more today when it dipped below 308 as they are good value at that price, but of course if Aviva carry on offloading they could become cheaper! Will be adding again, but watch the action after 9am very carefully first. If anyone has not seen it the summary of what Cazenove said is that Fiberweb would probably be sold, not demerged, the money would be used for share buy backs and acquisitions in the aero sector, which would be earnings enhancing and make the new business attractive to a range of trade and financial buyers. | royaloak |
