01/5/2013 08:44 | I'm just starting to look at this stock after moving out of the UK banks and wanted to check a few points before dipping in. 1) they never had involvement in Libor? 2) negligible exposure to PPI? 3) no direct government bailout? 4)still paying dividend? Is this correct or did I miss something, also the report suggest exposure to Spain isn't as high as thought? Any help much appreciated | tetraplex
24/4/2013 11:09 | Our share price is well behind the market according to that report? Nice cheap bank for one of the big US boys to buy up? Has to be consolidation at some point! | leedslad001

12/4/2013 12:54 | How much is the divi ? --- "The (spanish) banks will be well and truly shafting their customers .....in the next two years." Does that not infer that the bank shares are a buy ? whereas you say they are a sell | markt
03/4/2013 17:23 | I have a buy order at 50p. Spain will go the same way as Cyprus. The banks will be well and truly shafting their customers and shareholders in the next two years. Exuberance, don't you just love it ! | mreasygoing

27/3/2013 14:28 | Leedslad, yes, consolidation of the EU banking sector - at least amongst the smaller less well capitalised banks, must occur. That said, the larger entities that result from it will have to get their acts together and start lending to small businesses again. That is only part of the solution for the economy though. What Europe really needs is a less expensive and far more flexible equity raising mechanism to compare with the US where SME businesses can raise finance without being held hostage by the banks. Slightly off-topic, so that's for another thread. | bones
27/3/2013 13:59 | Leedslad re your 1041. Exactly my reasons for investing but trying to squeeze some profit as well as some divi. A bit easier for a smallish sum if the timing is right (big if at the moment). | melton john
27/3/2013 13:57 | Think they will look outside the eu to gain growth and expansion. The eu is treading water for next few years. Spain has some very good global companies and not all is bad there. Value to be had if you look. Repsol another spanish fav of mine. I also think there will be consolidation in the banking sector in the eu. | leedslad001
27/3/2013 13:48 | Leedslad, I will be interested in their comments on the European landscape at that time rather than their numbers. | bones
27/3/2013 13:34 | Looking forward to results in April. | leedslad001 |
