 SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
DO NOT TRUST - Santander is fraudulent
If I could, I would give zero to Santander UK. I’m actually about to report them to the financial ombudsman.
They put a lock on my account, meaning I cannot access my account. They cannot give me a reason why.
I have called them several times to resolve the issue, I’ve spent hours on hold, been transferred to all their different teams, I’ve been made promises such as I would receive a phone call within a certain time frame, which I never did. This has been going on for several month now.
Nobody can tell me why my account has a block on, nobody can unblock my account, and I cannot even speak with a manager or anybody who can tell me why this is happening or has the authority to remove the block.
This means I can receive payments but cannot make any payment. Not even direct debit can leave my account apart from THEIR bank charges.
I’ve been their customer for over 10 years and I had ongoing payments from my account until this happened.
They don't value their customers. I don’t even know if I will ever be able to access my money on my Santander business account. It seems like they have just stolen everything I had on that account.
DO NOT TRUST Santander!!!! They are fraudulent.
They are very crafty criminals therefore I would advise anyone to try to stay away from them, but if you are already in their trap, like I am, record all phone conversations and write to them postal letters with recorded delivery.

Don't switch to Santander!
Don't switch to Santander. Not worth the £175. For 3 months straight, I've had active Direct Debits not paid. This month, mortgage, car finance and a HP payment.

 SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Beware what a Fiasco!!!
Beware, do not open an account with this bank.
I opened an account and transferred money into the account. A week later i tried to transfer 20k to a friend that I was buying a car from, the account was locked down, and I was instructed to call security. They asked me a load of questions, and I was then told to present my self at the branch to prove my identity. This I did. I was kept in the branch for over half an hour, being asked questions such as, what color is the car, have I seen the log book. After this grilling I was told that the account would be unblocked. Two hours later account still blocked, I call in again, another hour on the phone to the security team who again grill me on the type of car, the age the make, they also threaten me that if I don't cooperate they will make it a lot more difficult to get access back into my account and MY money.
They are now considering if they will unblock my account!
As soon as I can, I will be transferring my money out of this fiasco and going to a decent bank.
Be aware, read all the other reviews, if you use this bank, don't say you were not warned !!!! I wish I had read them first!!!

SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Awful bank for business. Go elsewhere.
Despite being with Santander for many years, they treat their customers as criminals.
Relentless, tiresome blocking & restricting of business account on the grounds of 'security' which quite frankly is unacceptable, certainly not in the interest of our business & preventing us from paying our customers.
One 'security check' took over seven hours of staff time answering a multitude of questions & providing evidence to support as such. Nigh impossible to run a business using Santander as you simply do not know what they'll do next.

Santander stole all my money from my bank account, have you been their victim too?
hxxps://x.com/BrendaDunn2025
My experience of Santander is they are thieves. They locked me out of my account simply for me wanting to withdraw my own money as I had lost total faith in them upon them obfuscating and delaying me from withdrawing a smaller amount. They claimed everything from making sure I was the account holder, to falsely claiming I was the victim of a romance scam and called the police on me in the middle of the bank full of other customers looking on. The police told Santander that I was clearly not the victim of any scam, I simply wanted my money and they should remove the block on my bank account, but Santander ignored the police and kept my money. They are ABSOLUTE THIEVES!
This thread is dedicated to all Santander's victims. If you, or anyone you know, have become victims of Santander, please share your experience here.
My recommendation to the public, in the public interest, is:
If you or your family members hold a Santander account, and you have thousands in that account, do not risk leaving that money with them but do not try to withdraw it or transfer it or you will lose your money to them. Open an account with a more reputable bank and ask the new bank to switch your account from Santander to your new bank and everything will go smoothly.
Ignore this advice and you will more than likely end up becoming another victim if you try to withdraw more money than they want you too. They are tranching our money and they can't afford to lose their control over our money.
Remember the Northern Rock days, Santander are closing branches right, left and centre so when they go belly up, where are you going to queue for your money, online?
IF YOU ARE A SHAREHOLDER IN SANTANDER YOU NEED TO GET OUT ASAP FOR YOUR OWN FINANCIAL SAFETY BECAUSE AT WHAT POINT WILL IT COLLAPSE.
YOU SHOULD READ ALL THE COMMENTS MADE ON THIS THREAD AND THEN MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION. THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG AT SANTANDER. |
Why indeed. This week will be great as will the coming year. A bargain sub 400p. |
BNC is the most hassle free lender, dyor |
Half year results out in a week, maybe will give the share price another leg up . |
Santander staff and '30 million' customers hacked
Not good for business.... |
graph looks good |
I don't seem to be getting the full dividend. I hold BNC in both my supposedly tax free ISA and Sipp. I think Spanish must be withholding tax. 6.6p is what I got from E0.095. Should be 8.2p.My broker is ii |
We're almost at 400p - div arriving soon. Buybacks continue. |
Tower Resources (TRP) is the Stock to be in |
From the rns today:2024 has started with excellent business and commercial dynamics. We continue growing the number of customers we serve (+2 million) and will increase our income around 9% year-on-year (in current euros) in the first quarter as a result. Costs have now remained flat for three consecutive quarters, resulting in a further improvement in our efficiency ratio to 42.7% which we expect to close in the first quarter, reflecting the impact on both costs and revenue of our ongoing transformation. The cost of risk will be in line with our forecasts for the year, with improved performance in Europe, offsetting the impact of portfolio growth in Latin America, and the expected normalization in Consumer. The capital ratio remains above 12% in line with our target for 2024. We have many growth levers across the group. For example, we expect our Retail business to achieve a return on tangible equity (RoTE) above 16% in Q1, annualizing the impact of the banking tax in Spain which is registered entirely in January 2024, supported by solid performance in South America and Spain. Our Consumer business will show net operating income growth of around 6%, supported mainly by the strength of our business in Europe. As a result, we expect to reach a RoTE for the group of 16% in Q1, annualizing the impact of the banking tax in Spain, with an expected growth of TNAV plus dividend per share above 13% year-on-year, with today's data |
Approaching 5 yr highs. Great momentum. |
What's happened? |
That's an interesting spike this morning of 6% on no news that I can find. Not that far off a 4 yr high now. Shame I average 468p from about 15 yrs ago! |
I have an account with ii, all my divs are paid promptly and when directed reinvested cheaply and quickly.BNC seems to be moving up slowly. Quicker would be better. |
Anyone been paid the Dividend yet? HL not even showing them as XD....... |
Am surprised this still staying above 300p considering weakness in other UK bank shares...BNC also trading well above the price start of 2023... |
