BAE Systems has been selected by the Space Systems Command (SSC) Space Enterprise Consortium (SpEC) to provide a prototype ground system for the U.S. Space Force’s SSC Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution Command and Control (FORGE C2) project.

The goal of the FORGE C2 effort is to evolve the current ground architecture, leveraging newer technologies and architecture approaches. BAE Systems will integrate proven capabilities into a prototype ground system that will allow the Space Force to provide command and control capabilities for Next-Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) GEO (NGG) and Next-Generation OPIR Polar (NGP) systems as well as enabling the transition of the legacy Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) assets.

BAE Systems has signed a framework agreement with the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) to provide repair and maintenance services for the Danish Army’s CV90s over a period of 15 years.

Under the agreement, worth approximately $400 million (DKK 3,000,000,000), BAE Systems will provide an upgraded level of operability for the infantry fighting vehicles. The agreement covers repair and maintenance services for the Danish Army’s fleet of 44 CV90s, such as the delivery of spare parts at a time when the service’s operational tempo remains at a high level.

The company's expansion State side was a godsend, one that many poo poo'd at the time preferring instead a European linkup...

Europe has shown it cannot be trusted to prepare itself to defend its freedoms.
As an over reliance on the US post WW2 evidences.

The UK Royal Air Force (RAF) is starting to assess its pilot training needs regarding the future Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), having determined that its current BAE Systems Hawk T2s will not be suitable for the task.

A 28-strong fleet of Hawk T2s currently delivers advanced jet training in support of the RAF’s Eurofighter Typhoon and Lockheed Martin F-35B fleets.

Thats going to be a bit of a blow......

Malloy Aeronautics welcomed Minister for Defence Procurement, James Cartlidge and Commander of Strategic Command, General Sir Jim Hockenhull as they announced a new government strategy to support the development and deployment of uncrewed systems to the UK Armed Forces.
The UK Defence Drone Strategy will create a unified approach across all three military services and industry to enable the rapid experimentation, testing, evaluation and procurement of uncrewed platforms.

BAE Systems who recently announced the acquisition of Malloy Aeronautics have invested in uncrewed systems across land, sea and air domains for many years and the new strategy is an important next step.

The strategy will help academia and industry to build on the UK’s already world-renowned leadership in this technology and increase the pace at which we can identify opportunities and collaborate to deliver new capabilities across all domains.

anhar,

My holding's up four fold. It's now worth enough to buy a house. And to think that I recklessly sold some of it down, years ago, just to realise the annual CGT allowance. Tax tail wagged ignorant dog. There's a lesson there.

Yeah my holding has well over trebled which is nice but I don't invest with gains as my aim. As I've said I'm only here for the divis and they've been good to me over the years.

Incidentally I find it fooling yourself a bit to consider the yield on cost. If I review my port and compare the holdings with a view to making some changes, it's the current yields that are important imo. I rarely sell though and esp. not a share like BA. with it's attractive long term increasing divi record.

Yield is now over 10% for those that have held shares for around a decade or so now. My cheapest buy was £2.63 back in 2011.Sadly only smaller chunks back then but for those with deeper pockets who have managed to hold onto them for the length of time. Bonanza!

Current share price of over 1200p and the dividend of 30p isn’t inflation beating as the inflation is running over 5% at least! The dividend is only 2.4% if you are buying this over 1200p - you would be better.off investing in Barclays or Lloyd’s or NWG

As ohdear suggests, I think you misunderstand, confusing divi with yield. It is the divi increase of 11.1% that is inflation beating. I agree the yield is low but that's a different matter. As for being better off in other higher yielding shares, I do exactly that with BA. plus many other stocks in a widely diversified and very long term hold income port.

For an income investor it is crucial to diversify imo, to spread the risks. This inevitably means that some shares will be higher yielding than others when held for decades like me. That's not a problem because diversity trumps individual yield so an arms maker like BA. is welcome in my port and I've held it for many years. It's the overall port yield that matters to me.

Not sure you understand the concept of a dividend abbs.

Completely agree anhar - good for a continuing long term hold.

Inflation beating divi increase of 11.1% for 2023 to 30.0p (2022 27.0p). As purely a long term income investor, this was very good news for me as is their fine long term divi record.
