That 40,000 share buy by the Chairman for his wife yesterday won't have done the share price any harm either.
Reminds me I must buy the wife something. Perhaps a couple of premium bonds?

Carrier HMS Princes of Wales to be used as ‘drone testbed’

HMS Princes of Wales was the setting for the Future Maritime Aviation Force Accelerator Day, bringing together experts from the Royal Navy, MoD and industry to meet and discuss the vision for drone operations.

The Royal Navy say here that this comes as the navy seeks to develop and invest in the latest technology, bringing new, world-beating equipment to the frontline quicker.

Navigating the future of undersea autonomy – Riptide year-one

One year ago, the FAST Labs™ research and development arm of BAE Systems announced the acquisition of Riptide Autonomous Solutions. As stated at the time, the goal of the acquisition was to pair Riptide’s disruptive unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV) with our industry-leading mission system capabilities such as autonomy, navigation, communications, sensor processing, electronic warfare, and more. A year in and we are already seeing the successful integration of the Riptide technology making waves across the industry.

Considering the yield relative to bonds and the current safe harbour status of defence contracts I am very surprised, but happy to build a long term position

Struggling to understand the lack of improvement in share price since last Thursday. I'd welcome any constructive and reasoned comments why it's not gone up when Barclays 760, JP Morgan 750 & Deutsche Bank 675 clearly think it's good value and have commented since Thursday's half year results, and time is running out to get the dividend. Are investors waiting for something I'm not aware of?

Hardm,

I'm not pointing to the broker forecast as being gospel at all. I merely linked it to provide the "consensus balance" our eminent retired stockbroker noticeably failed to provide!!!!!!!!

I concur a consensus view takes into account all opinions hence why I challenged our retired stockbroker for clearly not engaging in such.

And no decent stockbroker thinks an Equity is 100% safe...

My type??

Oh bore off.

Geck, your argument doesn't make sense. You cannot state that broker forecasts are always wrong, and at the same time point towards a broker forecast that you agree with as being the gospel.

A consensus view takes account of all opinions.

Like many people hiding behind a keyboard, they are merely angry individuals that wouldn't be listened to by anybody in real-life. Unfortunately, the internet has provided a platform for your type to be heard.

BAE SYSTEMS ARE 100% SAFE, WITH 0% CHANCE OF ADMINISTRATION, OBVIOUSLY VOLATILITY EXITS, BUT DOWNSIDE IS LIMITED AND UPSIDE IS SUBSTANTIAL!

Love Caps Silver!!!!

Once again, any good stockbroker would know most of these analysts targets are often wrong!!! And ware not even worth the paper they're written on.

Hence you must be a second rate ex stockbroker from a bucket shop.

BAE are 100% safe??

hahaha you definitely are a second rate, probably a third rate stockbroker.

Bae are anything but safe.

Even UST's / bonds are not 100% safe. An Equity, which BAE is , clearly is less safe than a sovereign bond, even the alleged risk free ones.

GECKOTHEGLORIOUS, EVEN GOLDMAN SACHS PRICE TARGET IS ABOVE THE CURRENT SHARE PRICE, BUT BARCLAYS, BERENBERG BANK, CITIGROUP, CREDIT SUISSE, DEUTSCH BANK, JEFFERIES, JP MORGAN CAZENOVE AND MORGAN STANLEY PRICE TARGETS ARE ALL SUBSTANTIALLY ABOVE THE CURRENT SHARE PRICE BECAUSE BAE SYSTEMS ARE 100% SAFE! HOW MANY OTHER INVESTMENTS CAN YOU NAME THAT ARE 100% SAFE FOR BOTH INCOME AND GROWTH?

dalep, did you watch the video presentation from BAE Directors, their view is not the same as yours re: defense spending and the order book is secure for years to come

I don't see governments making massive cuts on defence spending.

You've only got to look at the tensions between nations which if anything might get worse over the next few years!

US vs China
India vs China
Australia vs China

Then we've still got Russian interference, Iran much like N.Korea are unstable.

Only the other week wasn't a satellite destroyed? Space race would lead to yet more tech and spending.

Good to see the dividend. So how do investors see defence spending going over the next couple of years? For me it's rock-bottom, also drones less profitable than Typhoons, so share price pegged around 500, not a climb to 600, but I've been wrong before!

"YES AS A RETIRED STOCKBROKER MY PRICE TARGET IS 675P WITHIN 12 MONTHS! JP MORGAN CAZENOVE TODAY REAFFIRMS ITS OVERWEIGHT RATING ON BAE SYSTEMS PLC (LON:BA.) AND CUT ITS PRICE TARGET TO 750P (FROM 765P)"

Strange then, if you're a retired stockbroker, that you missed

"Goldman cuts BAE TP to 505p(514p)"Neutral"

Second rate stockbroker then such as Peel Hunt, Berenberg or one of the other bucket shops??
