Typhoons Take Off as part of a UK-Qatari joint squadron

The UK's Royal Air Force and Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) Typhoon Squadron, known as No.12 Squadron, have marked an important milestone as they commenced flying as a Joint Squadron.

Based at RAF Coningsby, No.12 Squadron is a unique initiative between the UK and Qatar and will provide the QEAF with valuable experience operating the Typhoon as they prepare to receive their first aircraft. With deliveries commencing in 2022, the aircraft are part of a £5.1 billion deal between BAE Systems and the Government of Qatar.

BAE Systems presses ahead with plans to recruit 800 apprentices

We are moving forward with the recruitment of a record number of apprentices, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
More than 9,000 people across the UK applied for the 800 apprenticeship roles during February. We have put in place measures, including virtual interviews, which have enabled us to restart our recruitment drive with almost 2,000 shortlisted candidates.
