25/6/2020 07:59 | Yes I understand that and agree. Just thinking COVID reaction in the states may knock it a leg lower. It looks a good stock to buy to me. One of the few worth buying by the way | dope007
25/6/2020 07:55 | These are good value irrespective, the Covid effect and the situation with commercial aerospace is having a bearing, but circa 10% of revenue, fallen a fair way and back at March levels, so is that fair? | bookbroker
25/6/2020 07:50 | Tempted if this gets below 450p on Covid | dope007

25/6/2020 07:23 | Defence contractor BAE Systems said the Covid-19 pandemic has dented trading in the second quarter. At its UK-based Air and Maritime sectors, second-quarter disruptions have particularly hit cost recoveries and sales volumes, offset somewhat by a strong underlying operational performance and cost-control measures. The US-based Controls and Avionics business "has been and is expected to be impacted for the near-term", especially in the commercial aftermarket and product delivery lines. Demand remains high, though, with order intake in line with BAE's original expectations for the year. Sales for the half-year are expected to be broadly stable year-on-year, but profit is expected to fall 15% due to cost under recoveries in the period, significantly reduced volumes in higher margin commercial work, and the sales mix. "As we return towards full operational tempo we expect the business performance in the second half to be much stronger than in the first half, assuming no new significant Covid-19 related disruptions," said BAE. The company added that it will provide an update alongside its interim results on its move to defer the decision on a 2019 final dividend. | geckotheglorious

25/6/2020 07:10 | Rib. - I do find your posts interesting, it is important to see the nuts and bolts in terms of how and what BAE. does, I just find the share price and valuation dispiriting. This company has evolved considerably in terms of its intelligence side of things, maybe that will become more respected. | bookbroker
25/6/2020 07:04 | Strangely no discussion of the news this morning, 15% fall in interim profits. Plenty on bus power systems in NYC though I see!! Not sure the importance of such tbh. 25/6/2020 06:45 | bb. I dont have a financial background but I can see your POV. If you see or find any of the financial news/guidance please let us know (I can then have a lead to the type of info you are looking for). Looks like the UKDJ picked up on the BBC article...... 24/6/2020 19:19 | Always interesting WC., informative, shame the investment community does not see the merits of holding a stock with Govt. revenue streams, i have thought they were pretty much rock-solid! | bookbroker
24/6/2020 17:34 | Wad, Rather he posted something important on time rather than 3 days after the event myself!!!! See my last post, or the one before that. | geckotheglorious
24/6/2020 15:55 | Bookbroker, would you rather that RW posts his opinions rather than the news and broker updates? | wad collector
24/6/2020 15:19 | Perhaps your right bb, but any investment is the choice of the person doing it. Research is what matters. Financial reports, brokers recs, market forecasts etc are all very well but at some point you have to look at the companies business and what it produces for that market, in the case of BAE, globally. Take todays BBC article, BAE are not the only company developing this idea but this is a BAE product, in the news and is the future. Royal Navy's first crewless boat ready for testing The team has worked in partnership with BAE Systems, which builds the Pacific 24 in Portsmouth. | ribblewader
24/6/2020 15:05 | To a point, but what I need enlightening is where we are with this company as an investment, I’m thinking this company needs to look at a merger or a break-up. Seems very strong in cyber and electronic warfare, as for hardware that is a different matter, that is where projects like Trident and Land Systems seem to be lacking visibility beyond the current lifetime of existing projects. | bookbroker
24/6/2020 14:57 | Are you saying company news is not relevant? Why the share price is where it is, is not something I have market experience with. Now engineering and or defence procurement thats another matter.....:-) | ribblewader
24/6/2020 14:47 | Why do you not post something that is relevant, just repeating what is written in defense journals does little to justify why this valuation in this company is not higher. | bookbroker

22/6/2020 07:15 | Typhoons Take Off as part of a UK-Qatari joint squadron The UK's Royal Air Force and Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) Typhoon Squadron, known as No.12 Squadron, have marked an important milestone as they commenced flying as a Joint Squadron. Based at RAF Coningsby, No.12 Squadron is a unique initiative between the UK and Qatar and will provide the QEAF with valuable experience operating the Typhoon as they prepare to receive their first aircraft. With deliveries commencing in 2022, the aircraft are part of a £5.1 billion deal between BAE Systems and the Government of Qatar. | ribblewader |
