Replacement E-3D platform, MoD urged to go out to competative tender. Hmm, could this be another few £ Billions before someone says "Why". I know reliability and availability are key but are any of the current alternative platforms any better.

BAE Systems to expand in New Hampshire

Nashua, N.H.-based aerospace and defense contractor BAE Systems has announced plans to build a 220,000-sq.-ft. facility in Manchester, N.H. The company announced previously it would invest $100 million into infrastructure improvements.

The facility is expected to employ as many as 400 workers when completed.

Often overlooked, but one of BAE's best sellers. Will this lead to more gulf orders for the T2? Hope so, its a good aircraft

I would certainly be adding at 595-600 if it arrived with a view to hold for the long term, I think the dividend is sustainable with the contracts on board and the political outlook.

Sub 595p buy target for me.

If it comes, unlikely....unless there is a debt bubble wobble.
If 10yr UST at say 3.3-3.4%

Biggest faller within the sector today. If I had any funds worth investing I would top up but I'm mostly tied up in other shares.

Just a matter of time share price side - only fly in ointment is a general market sell off.
Which looks likely mid next year imo

Carrier No2 manufacture ploughing on
HMS Prince of Wales navigation bridge handed over early.....



Being an MoD project I was surprised that they had not abbreviated carrier No2 to initials, but then I cant see HMS PoW sticking for some reason!

The recent big contacts don't seem to have improved the share price a jot.

Ex Divi date coming up soon too......... I would have expected a better share price at this stage.

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has selected BAE Systems to compete for future research and development (R&D) task orders awarded under a nine-year, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.

"BAE Systems is one of 15 companies selected by the Defense Technical Information Center to compete for future R&D and support task orders expected to exceed $15 million. These task orders will be awarded by the Air Force Installation Contract Agency/KD Offutt AFB, Nebraska and support the DoD Information Analysis Center Program Management Office. The ceiling value for all future work awarded under the IDIQ is $28 billion."

Whew was a long wait haha. Now (or at least very soon) we can send the QEII carrier into battle and expect a decent outcome. An embarissment all round (having aircraft carriers with no aircraft) but hopefully that will quickly be all forgotten by the masses haha.

I recall, when Tornado was still at the development stage it was designated Multi Roll Combat Aircraft (MRCA) I dont thinkI have seen that description for Typhoon. Are we diverting it away from its primary purpose?
