22/11/2018 14:37 | Oriana - Yes Carillion was a shock, I hope you were not one of the unlucky shareholders, in the previous year I had looked at them a couple of times, just my lifelong illness (inertia!!) which meant I didn't get caught haha. | losos

21/11/2018 14:48 | Oriana, Carillion and BAE Systems are two different markets in two different industries. BAE are not dependant on Government money, only approval! | ribblewader
21/11/2018 11:56 | .......as long as the profit margins are viable. Ref carillion. | oriana2
21/11/2018 11:06 | Ribble Wader - "whatever you do its wrong!" Some politicians just love to panda to their electorate say anything so long as they get re-elected haha. Thanks for the link about the Toronto Bus business. One of the things about BA. is it's huge spread of operations, to my mind this gives it strength when markets are all panicky as they are right now. | losos
21/11/2018 09:49 | Saving much more than fuel with a milestone delivery of 10,000 systems BAE Systems reached a major milestone with the delivery of its 10,000th electric drive system into transit service as part of its contract with transit bus manufacturer, Nova Bus, fulfilling orders for Toronto Transit Commission, a Canadian transit bus operator in Toronto, Canada. 21/11/2018 09:05 | Lososos, I agree. But back when the contract was let we did not have a capable carrier for any aircraft type (Harrier was being phased out). The carrier being the biggest part of that capability had to be built first (with half a design eye on the expected aircraft type, size, weight, capability etc). I would hate to have tried to project manage the design and build of both the ship and the aircraft at the same time. Then of course its far quicker to manufacture an aircraft than a carrier. It would also be sure to go beyond budget! The carrier has been around for a couple of years but a year of that was doing shake downs of the ship, we are now in the Ship/AC integration phase | ribblewader
20/11/2018 17:35 | RibbleWader - "HMS Queen Elizabeth successfully completes F-35B flight testing" Great news, so now we have a hugely capable aircraft carrier AND some aircraft to fly off her !!! I still find it mind bogling that we launched an aircraft carrier some years ago with no aircraft suitable to fly off her. | losos
20/11/2018 15:32 | .........getting scary now!!! | oriana2
20/11/2018 11:38 | HMS Queen Elizabeth successfully completes F-35B flight testing A third developmental test (DT-3), followed by operational testing, is scheduled for 2019. Together, the tests will help the Ministry of Defence reach F-35B initial operating capability (maritime) in 2020. | ribblewader
19/11/2018 23:11 | At the risk of sounding heartless or cynical, the fact that the Khashoggi murder (abhorrent as it is) has a finite number of news cycles before it is forgotten makes this a great buying opportunity. It is hard to call the bottom but anything around these levels seems bargain territory. | cmackay
