conduit holdings sold down approx 30% of their holding in Av??? If you have never heard of them.....

Conduit Holdings Limited is a Bermuda-based holding company. The Company, through its subsidiary, Conduit Reinsurance Limited, provides reinsurance products and services to its clients worldwide. The Company’s underwriting business is comprised of three segments: Property, Casualty and Specialty. Yes very good research richie1218, many thanks

I suspect the link, however, to AB's Lloyds "hankering" is purely coincidental. I'm assuming she is looking for broader access than just Canadian Motor

I was just doing a bit of research into Optiom, and this maybe nothing, but apparently it' has Coverholder status at Lloyds,
we all know that AB has been hankering after joining the Lloyds of London insurance club and maybe Optiom could be a step to obtaining that goal... or maybe not ?

"Optiom is a specialty MGU of insurance products, offering vehicle replacement coverage with Lloyd's Coverholder status. Optiom offers a wide range of protections for both total losses and partial losses to ensure protection of their customers' assets."

What does it mean to be a Lloyd's coverholder?
A Coverholder is a company or partnership authorised to enter into a contract of insurance on behalf of a Lloyd's syndicate in accordance with the terms of a binding authority.

From memory recall I think that we are expecting a total dividend this year of 34p which would give a current yield of 8.01% on 424p share price advfn are showing under "financials" a yield of 7.46% which appears to be outdated.

425p to 480p = +13%
....presumably after a Final Div of 5.25% (on 425p)

'Equal weight' implies that they think the market is going to rise by a similar %

Small(By Aviva's standards) bolt-on acquisition by Aviva this morning:-

Tracy Garrad, Chief Executive Officer of Aviva Canada, said:

"The acquisition strengthens our offering and distribution capabilities in a highly attractive segment of the Canadian insurance market. We know Optiom well through our existing relationship and are excited about what we can do together to better serve our brokers and customers."

The acquisition is consistent with our capital management framework, which remains unchanged. We continue to anticipate further regular and sustainable returns of surplus capital.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approvals and is expected to close in Q1 2024.

A take over may well be the way to realise the real value.
In the UK value is hard to justify, a rich foreign company, on a valued stock exchange, may well be the perfect suitor.
