Like all “technical analysis” or charting - the evolutionary innate desire to see patterns where there are none - look up pariedola.

Elliot wave theory was apparently proposed by a politician. Everything can be made to fit what was proposed in hindsight.

Aviva third-quarter update comes on back of busy few months
10 Nov 2023

There has been a lot going with Aviva since reported half-year results back in August. At the time, chief executive Amanda Blanc was able to confidently predict the group was on track to beat its previous guidance, with cost-reduction plans running a year ahead of target and first-half profits better than expected. Later that month it lost its UK and Ireland boss to a general insurance rival, though this should be nothing more than an annoying hitch for a FTSE 100 company. Then in September, Aviva rejigged its ISA and SIPP offerings, making them more competitive with fund supermarket platforms like Hargreaves Lansdown and AJ Bell, which seemed a prelude to a big announcement about plans for its UK Wealth business. Blanc target of reaching at least £250bn in assets and at least £280m in operating profit per annum within the next 5 years is ambitious, analysts said. Also last month, bid rumours re-emerged, with the group said to be in the cross-hairs of a number of interested parties. Aviva has also been engaged in more of its own M&A, continuing its decade of streamlining with the £800m sale of its stake in Singapore Life, before buying AIG's UK protection business for £460m.

Whatsup, I was enrolled in a Standard Life salary sacrifice pension 3 months ago. I was using AJ Bell for an existing SIPP so I used their transfer service and it was excellent and very quick! You fill in a form on the AJ Bell site, print it and sign it OR they do it electronically ( I also transferred out of Nest, so it was either/ or).Thing to do now, IMHO of course, is use II to suck the pension to them, much cheaper dealing fees but slightly more on the monthly charge.

Whatsup, I had exactly the same from Sun Life. Got the ombudsman involved and they straight up lied to him. It took me 10 months to transfer out, and it dropped by about 8k.
