I would normally say: you can say that again...but...being honest...that's probably often enough already 🙂

If they were significant there would already be an RNS.

Only now will we find out the full extent of the claims
Not good news in my humble opinion.

Keep those dividends in cash

I am sure a lot of people will disparage this simple solution

Stop short selling of shares

I find it both sad funny and ironic that with all the ongoing economic travails this country is experiencing that

The only beneficiaries are the Hedge Funds who continue to undermine British companies aided and abetted by the self same investment and insurance companies lending out the shares to enable it.
But then these hedge funds fill the coffers and fund the conservative party

We are pursuing a trade deal with India while Haemmoraging money to support Ukraine while India continues to support Putins offensive by hoovering up the cheap oil made available thus funding self same evil war.

Suggest referencing Led by Donkeys because that sums up EYAW Sunak and his cabinet

I will be keeping any dividends received in cash for time being

Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts

Skinny,

Very good of you! ;0)

That chart should allay suspicions that this inexorable grind down is something peculiarly to do with AV./Canadian wildfires.

NB: I am aware, before anyone chimes in, that cherry picking start points with data to support a statement is a dangerous game, but folks can play around with ADVFN charting if they want to investigate the matter to their own satisfaction.

Skinny,

Thanks for posting that - MNG doing better is more pronounced on the 1 yr chart but the others just track each other, can't get a feeler gauge between them.

For anyone buying for the long term AV, LGEN and PHNX are all screaming buys. Yes, macro factors mean they could all dip lower but 9-10% yields are adequate compensation while you wait.

I plotted MNG, PHNX, AV. and LGEN together on one chart using ADVFN charts for 6 months and for 1 year to see who is doing the best.

MNG is the strongest, the other three more or less track each other pretty closely, so it does appear to be a sector thing, not company specific.

With AV., excluding Batflu, we are at 4 year lows.

Forward yield, at the current price is ~9.1%.

Ditto spud, BTW my gilts investments have locked in over 5.2% yield to maturity over 4 and 5 years having invested much more than in shares both at the time of the liz truss debacle and at the more recent lows - the capital gains on these at the moment has balanced out the price damage on AV, LGEN and PHNX investments, and if the shares go on to take a real hammering I have an enormous pool of capital with excellent liquidity to switch more into shares.

smurf - I don't think its company related. The whole sector (indeed the main Market) is being manipulated down simply because there are more Institutional sellers than private investor buyers.

This will reverse rapidly (as will prices) once we get a sniff from the BOE that rate rises have peaked which I believe will happen within the next 3 months. Allied to the Santa rally and the traditional first quarter Market pump, getting in now is pretty nailed on imo.

For the record, I've not sold, just added to existing positions.
