Apparently this conversation (below) by Penny James was over-heard in the DLG head office early Wednesday morning on reading AV's rns and the point when she knew her job was untenable:

"Sh*t, S*d it, B*gger, b*gger, b*gger, b*gger......Mandy, you b!tch!"

Lol...

Good and positive comment on LGEN in Mail on Sunday...a BUY signal which may influence some more positive action with AVIVA. The latter are having some impressive TV advertising currently and well presented.

If chart is anything to go by, for most investors, the past is now irrelevant.

Please please no more on past misdemeanours
Just think..if they had not passed that dividend we would still have Tulloch and a sprawling international under managed business

I believe the regulators pushed AV to cancel the dividend during the pandemic.

btw im not sure cevian have sold any shares. i was looking at # shares aviva has and i think theyve increased from share options etc from block listing rns which has moved them automatically from a smidge above 5 to below 5. ie the share count looks like its gone up by 10mln or so over last couple months.

i also did see that they increased the size of one of the schemes by 25mln shares. i guess thats unallocated but nonetheless its more than £100mln. im not familiar with how these work - does anyone know why they would do this unless they plan to dish them out at some point?

spud as welcome as iis AV commentry is.
It is a crying shame that they have re-interated AVs disingenuous claim that the 2022 dividend will be 40% higher than 2021

They have chosen to ignor the 75% share consolidation!!

The pari passu dividend increase is the equivalent of 29.4pps to 31pps = +5.44%

Equally they 'very quietly' eased back the forecast for 2023 from 31.5pps to 31.0pps during the year

.....ABs only false step in the last 2 years, in my view

I agree cjac39
But I remain suspicious; worries could just as easily been quashed with a 3 line announcement confirming Q3 announcements and a £50m weather impact
That having been said I am all in favour of openness and allowing senior management to be exposed to the outside world

I have been asking myself all day
Why, having never done it before, have they chosen to 'present' the GI Business now; with the Annual Results announcement just 6 weeks away!!
.....and without prior notice to anyone

Surely not just because of DLs disaster

Very, but then we never lost faith in this one - the "at pace" in the announcement has Amanda written all over everything they do.
