They say that cash remitances at the end of Q3 were £1.1bn the same as at Q3 2021
They also say that for the full year they will be in excess of the £1.66bn for 2021 ie in excess of 60p per share

v little of note in here. bit harsh to see share price go down but all insurers down for some reason today. CORs ticked up a little but i guess expected with inflation. i havent checked last years q3 but its notable they only make passing reference to OCG and dont have any underlying OCG figures. 1rob do you know if thats normal? i dont have time to check. makes me suspicious there are some difficult stories under the bonnet as you would expect in GI with asset falls.

however overall its doing what a diversified business should in times like this. steady and boring. 7.6% fwd divi yield and a buyback doesnt seem to excite anyone but i guess with higher gilt yields thats going to be the case for a while until yields sink back down again as they surely will.

Having said that it is unlikely that US energy windfall taxes could ever get passed even without a successful red wave. But don't take my word for it.

@whatsup32....US markets "usually" prefer to a political stalemate in Washington rather than the other way around.
Certain stocks would probably have benefited/preferred a Republican majority...energy for example.

Perhaps people have got stung putting too much into risky small stocks and are now trying to recover it by buying more of the same on the basis that a penny stock is cheap because its only a penny.

Funny old market, you would think it would be prioritising staid defensives with good balance sheets, instead we get mass panic or risky recovery plays at a time of great unknowns.

I agree.
A red wave was said to be good for the markets but it's not happened.
Now I think the CPI print tomorrow stateside is what the market waits for before seeing which way it goes.

If USA elections are undecided or with house under Rep and Senate Dem it could be argued Government won’t get much done which may drive shares lower ? If USA goes down we follow AV. included.
Spud sorry if it’s of topic , just asking

I think the US CPI update tomorrow and next week UK CPI on 16th + Budget on 17th should give more guidance on the inflation persistence. This for sure in a strong barometer for interest rates and slow down in econmic activity. Aviva results strong as we expected and future divi well covered by X2 EPS... I will add more here, but after the above events have unfolded

Good update and AV doing what it said it would do.

The US mid terms results not confirmed yet and the market could easily flip once results clear.

Yeah I agree it's more to do with the coming days than today.

I have a buy order in at 419 and to be honest was surprised it got as close as it did to being hit!!

I am happy with the figures so will add more at some point and await the challenge of 450 👍🏻

Way too early to judge. A positive close is the best indicator. Currently all my stocks are down (aside from RIO). spud

A couple of pence down at the opening in line with the wider market almost so that's ok.

Oh and then a few more pence too!!

I like this bit...

Our dividend guidance(4) of c.GBP870m (c.31.0p) for 2022 and c.GBP915m (c.32.5p) for 2023, together with our intention to return further capital to shareholders in 2023 are unchanged.

Again, have a look at the ADVFN-PROBLEMS thread... Some Iphone apps seem to have that issue... I think the answer is to delete and reinstall app.... But have a read first!
