Just to point out as well, the last full year dividend total pre covid was already 30p. They have reduced it post covid, and now increased it again with 24% shares. I wasn't in pre covid though so i don't feel that pain.

what a rubbish deal for shareholders this capital return has been - if I wanted to sell 500 shares at £3.72 I would have done

...'So if you buy back for £4.237 or less inc costs you are back to same position and no worse off'.'
!!!
Apart from the fact that if you reinvest all the B share proceeds you will considerably increase your income
by about 20+% over last year
...and you have increased your % ownership of the Company

Re brokers... My 3 Freetrade accounts all up to date with dividend and b share proceeds by early evening yesterday. I've been planning to move to ii after the Aviva transactions had completed due to Freetrade's new enforced share lending. So interesting to see the comments about ii above, particularly from you Spud.

Thanks tornado and wadders for your reply, I thought I remembered seeing around £4.25 but wasn’t sure. Like you I might hold off adding yet as it may drop under £4.

tornado...agree to a large extent but China is key as supply chain has been seriously disrupted but there are signs that China is starting to adopt a more realistic approach to Covid developments. This should help calm inflation and separately Russia may start to re-dress its original aims on Ukraine and settle for less....economic and political isolation is not in their longer term interest. I maybe wrong in my optimism but we will just have to see how things pan-out over the next few weeks.

If you had 1000 shares you now have 760 shares and £1,016.90. So £1016.90/240=£4.237.So if you buy back for £4.237 or less inc costs you are back to same position and no worse off.

It was 4,24 GBP at original MC... I am not buying as yes today a recovery but sure there's plenty of bad news to get this back below 4 quid. Need patience as the outlook for slow down is really real unless really positive news from War & China can change the direction.

Is there any actual nominated share price value given for the B shares dividend. I mean a figure which was calculated to ensure your holding effectively stays the same after the reduction? I don’t know whether to buy today or wait. I’m not looking to gain just to ensure that I’m not paying more than any calculated price and I end up the same as before.

According to Keynes people hold money in cash for three motives , transactions, precautionary, and speculative motives.
