I'm also massively weighted towards Aviva, for good reason! Using dividend (when it arrives) to add to Vanguard world etf. I'm happy that this gives me a reasonable exposure to US tech. I moved most of my GSK to Aviva but still have a chunk. Still a bit of uncertainty with them but seems to be more upside than downside risk after their price drop.

I have done very well with 2 general trusts: HHI and ASEI.

However while I still hold them I'm not sure how much of a bargain they are any more.

As much as I want to reinvest I need to diversify as my holding is too dependant on Aviva. Currently looking at some of the funds like Fundsmith, Investment Trusts (Scottish Mortgage), and trackers. Again, anybody holding would welcome their views.

CSN?

Very dull, bit of a wider spread than the bigger insurers, good dividend of 7.8%.

Currently at a bit of a cyclical low if one eyeballs the long term chart so maybe a good time to buy. The long term trend appears to be upwards overall though.

It has a very long record of paying the dividend and increasing it year on year.

Grid is a good solid investment, 6% yield energy shorage a good theme with a good future. VOD solid company 5%, yield as well. MRW also worth looking at especially with the partnership with Amazon, I expect morrisons to get taken over eventually by amazon, also over 4% yield whilst you wait. All three worth looking at. I hold all three as well as Av.

I hold both and think it makes a lot of sense for both parties. I think this is what's called confirmation bias :-)

ThamesYou are lucky. Aviva is one of my best performers today.Oil and miners are making the drop in insurers look minor

Markets will settle and continue the rise (eventually) regardless the hint of higher interest rates. Look at stock prices in 2007.

I think higher interest rates should benefit Aviva. The company will be able to offer more attractive annuities to pensioners. Long term liabilities will be discounted at a higher rate.

I genuinely believe that defensive stocks are a thing of the past. Algo computers (which dominate) just sell indiscriminately. spud
