26/5/2021 12:50 | Thanks eurofox...smart move and you are right to be sanguine about tomorrow's figures. At least there has not been a huge speculative increase in the share price over the last 2 months and there is much positive news ahead. We have just renewed our house building policy again with Aviva despite a 6% increase in premium. The pull-back today is interesting/tempting but will await the early share price reaction tomorrow before adding. Best wishes. | cyberian
26/5/2021 12:37 | I'm still around ... but nothing new to comment on in regards to Aviva. Still holding 6 figure (shares) core holding and I have not traded this for a couple of months now. Tomorrow will be what it is, and speculation is not going to change that. It does seem to me that some rotation towards value shares is going on and I have ramped up additional holdings in Tesco, BP and GSK (all off their recent lows). | eurofox
26/5/2021 11:56 | Where is eurofox when you need him! In a way quite glad that the share price is a little unsteady today ahead of figures tomorrow...I would buy more for longer term in event of any adverse price movement tomorrow. | cyberian
26/5/2021 11:49 | oggy, I suspect I’m a little old school in that I don’t see need to mislead fellow posters. I may be down on my investment but at least I never lost any sleep knowing Av. is built on solid foundations and that it will rebound which it has. Good luck with your investments | whatsup32
26/5/2021 11:10 | I diversified my dividend through funds Oggy. All four are in the blue, so far so good. | devonbeachbum
26/5/2021 11:01 | Aviva is as close to a sure thing as you can get at the moment. Not only is it as safe a place to park your money as spud said, there is also a nailed on 20% upside at the very least. We just need to learn the virtue of patience. | father jack1
26/5/2021 10:42 | I don’t think they will update on return of capital until money received. There have been some new senior recruits recently. Might be too early to tell how things such as new adverts are having an impact. However website is much improved recently (or at least from the previous time I looked) and hopeful for good trading figures. I reinvest fully my dividends in Aviva via Barclays, so looking for news on longer term dividend performance too. Would love a special dividend. Good see your honest on price you bought whatsup33. Most people only brag about buying at lowest point!!! I’m far too heavy on this share and need to diversify. | oggyrocks
26/5/2021 10:28 | Anyone think they have given the nod to a few bigger investors in advance of tomorrow? No update on planned return of capital? | mountpleasant
26/5/2021 10:19 | Might do a mks full year loss up5%😳 NOT if in profit tmmw down we go | linton5
26/5/2021 09:35 | The share price is being driven by very few actual buys and sells. Less than £2 million with more buys than sells. I’m with Spud on this. Money is coming back to us and most metrics put AV ahead of its peers so we have to sit tight. Simply by achieving the sector average PE would give a 60% lift. AV appears to be above average IMO. | brilltrader
26/5/2021 09:15 | One of the safest, if not the most exciting, companies to park your cash atm. Just when you least expect it, It'll no doubt surprise. spud | spud
26/5/2021 09:10 | Disappointed with SP, really thought we would have an increase in run up to trade update. I'm left believing market expects no significant news either way. | whatsup32
26/5/2021 07:18 | GSK is a company that lots of people love because it is big pharma and seems on the surface to have good numbers. However whenever I have taken a detailed look at it I do not like what I see. It is heavily indebted (£25bn+) and really has not created any shareholder value for years. | rcturner2
25/5/2021 17:54 | Watford, TBH I really do not know GSK side. Apparently UK Govt is worried about such according to a recent article... But once it splits in two it is even more vulnerable. Consumer biz is easiest to value yes..predictable cash flows | geckotheglorious
25/5/2021 17:51 | GeckoWould love the threat of a TO to ignore GSK but do you really think it would be allowed.Imagine anyone will sit back and watch them screw up the split/spending billions doing and then maybe pick up the consumer portion which is less likely to be blocked | watfordhornet
25/5/2021 17:48 | More M&A to come Spud... As you say, UK market is undervalued. My top 3 - wish list. ITV GSK CEY Happy to be rid of them. Add in Drax. And it'll be happy days | geckotheglorious
25/5/2021 17:40 | The Market just isn't valuing the majority of UK stocks accurately. An article in the FT (I think) today discusses how a record number of UK companies have been bought by foreign investors this year with the numbers set to increase. spud | spud
25/5/2021 17:08 | Armchair trader pointing out the complete lack of appetite for this stock from institutional investors according to AI program and asks what’s the problem here because there shouldn’t be one. Personally when you look at this stock compared to others on the face of it it’s a steal on most investment measures. | 123trev
25/5/2021 15:06 | Still sat on my recent dividends from Aviva and Lloyds. Was thinking of putting all in Aviva but if i do it will no doubt drop back down to £3.94, if i don't it will rise to £4.15.... | wadders5
25/5/2021 14:20 | Let's keep it classy lads, no need to gloat if you got lucky and bought these at a bargain price. 475p would have seemed like a sound buy at the time. Still much better than stuck in a deposit account earning diddly squat. These will get back to a fiver next year most likely. | father jack1
25/5/2021 14:02 | Thamestrader. With dividends received I’m down about 8%. It’s my main holding with a little on the side for trading. Not sure why it’s nearly 1% down today, had expected gradual clime to trading update | whatsup32
25/5/2021 13:57 | Since August 2017 I have bought and sold this at every price imaginable between 240p and 535p. Average is now 390p, so just on the right side of the line. | thamestrader
25/5/2021 13:46 | Not one of my better investments:) Never lost any sleep believing it will come back from lows | whatsup32
25/5/2021 12:46 | Whatsup32 I paid £3.07 so which one of us is more happy :) hopefully you will get back to profit soon scnash1 | scnash1
25/5/2021 07:27 | I bought in at 478p , so some way of for me | whatsup32 |
