You'd need to show your AV. Purchase. Some international companies, TUI, draw no SD, but AV. definitely do.Any other punters out there paying SD with SIPPs?

I used to pay no Stamp duty on Rangold Resources as well even outside my SIPP or ISA for some reason probably their administrative domicile with them being based in South Africa and DGOC in the US.

You pay no capital gains tax or income tax on these assets while they remain inside the SIPP, though you'll still pay stamp duty on purchases.I think you are wrong.

Whoa, you don't pay SD within a SIPP? News to me, who do you use?

Well if AV should go below £4 (not likely) i will buy more also i sold DGOC at 1.296 before their last divvy payment and bought half of them back at 1.26 so i may well buy the rest back at 1.13 and even better for some reason i don't pay stamp duty on them in my SIPP

Normally the price goes down a lot more than the divvy but its not pointless for me because i have my £4200 now to invest rather than waiting til 14th May..."

That is a more convincing argument in favour.
So have you mapped out a route across the year , where the divis can be re-invested and compound the effect of getting the cash from dividends earlier ?

I guess you need to start with a substantial sum, otherwise the effect is soon lost as the dividends you are compounding are only a few % each time....

I think its a bit of fun trying to guess which way the market goes after a chunky div on this occassion I sat on my hands.I firmly believe like most on this board that this share has 5.00 written all over it. Like most I do not favour a buy back but lets assume 20% bought back then the divi should go up accordingly so the 21p goes to say 26.2p (all things being equal)further supporting a higher share price.

I know it was gamble but if i had done it all my dealing life i would now be more well off.
Watching MNG lose 30p for 12.23p div and BAT nearly a pound for a 53.9p div was the final straw for me. I will do it again if i think the market pricing is right...

Thaisi, you took a gamble and it didn't pay off. You've not lost money though, the gamble had a chance of paying off if it had gone down a few poor pence! If can make £100 in a day on a hunch I am happy, part of what we do here is termed as gambling, but just a small part!

Hello Spud, It was all done in my SIPP and sold yesterday at 4.204 so the Stamp Duty and the £40 dealing charge was paid for by the market. I did actually make a measly £1.85 luckily i think with the market up.

Got my shares back at 404.1 so got an extra £1.85 on top of my dividend. It was hard work with the market up. Bet they crash down more now...

Mcro actually went up on divi day didn’t it russ42? Quite a trick but with so much potentially good news to come it’s hardly surprising. I’m actually quite confident AV will do similar, probably fall first thing then recover a bit during the day. Hope so anyway. GLA.

I can thoroughly NOT recommend AJ Bell. Not enough bandwidth to trade on busy days, and a nightmare to get your money out of. If you sold £20k of a stock waited a couple of days then bought £5k of another stock they won't release your £15k for until the second contract date has come. I have a complaint in about it.

Mcro shares never dropped a penny on divi day and the divi was 11.3 hopefully it wont drop to much here.

I agree but all the disposals have been announced so cant and hope not to see any news tomorrow plus the FTSE and DOW have had a really good run lately so some profit taking must be due to kick in???

Going to be very interesting to see the buy orders on the LSE orderbook tomorrow morning. Have not sold any shares today, because I have a feeling that this is not going to fall by all of the dividend. I plan on putting in opening orders to add just above 405p as a backstop. There is too much good stuff lined up on this share to be out of it at any time.
